PUNISHES do not affect SCORE - Video

I really want to clear this up because it is really urking me. From the beginning people have been saying "EA needs to get rid of the punish system because n00bs are punishing for tks and costing me more points"..... The fact is, punishes do not affect score.

According to BF2's ScoreManagerSetup.con file:

Teamkill: -4
Punished Teamkill: -4

This is alot of peoples evidence that punished tks do affect your score. However, you EITHER get a punished tk or a tk, you cannot get both with one tk, therefore you can ONLY get -4.

There ya go. Notice, after the punish the score stays the same.

There are numerous reasons why people see -8 after getting a tk. For example, say you blow up a hummer and a friendly with low health walks by the wreckage when it explodes again and kills them. Things like that could happen after the fact and then make it seem like a punish actually affected your score.

If you tk someone with C4, you may have also damaged numerous teammates in the process.

how can people be so dense.....punishes are used to tell when someone should/and will be kicked....

accidental tk, no punish = no kick
ignorant/purposeful tk, yes punish = yes kick

I'd like to point out that you can get 2 team damages when you kill someone.

2*-1 = -2, + -4 = -6.

How do you get -8? No idea.

Isn't this a server setting? if it's off then the TKer gets -4 and when on and when punished -8

I hate team punishing idea. Just make server auto-kick to someone who tk more than a certain number in a round. I still remember an event. I accidentally run over somebody with a car and he teampunishes me. THen when he accidentally fired me with an APC, despite his profuse "Sorry" .I punish him. Then the second time, he accidentally kills me again, he says sorry but I punish him again. It feels so good!

team damage is -1. shoot an apc with a tank and ull get -1 point

It's amazing how some people can be so ignorant and stubborn when the punish feature has already been proven and confirmed time and time again that it does not affect score.

this is a server setting you idiot, like 95% of the servers are like this, you can still punish but it doesn't have any effect
