Problem is that it's not used for cover fire. People in games tend to ignore cover fire, as they're not afraid of the consequence.
Before, covering fire didn't work because the damned things weren't scary.
Now, they're not used for covering fire, they're used for accurate, 100-round, 3 shot kills, regardless of range.
If a sniper is already prone, he's mince. The support player dives and/or rolls, making a 1 shot kill almost impossible. Sniper can hit him once and then again, but it's not enough to beat a three shot burst in terms of speed.
As much as the support players love to say 'live with it - go adapt'.. it's one of those things that just creates an imbalance. The mass shift from assualt and special ops to support is indicative of this.
While it might be realistic, as it is a heavy gun, it's negatively affecting gameplay. Adjustments need to be made. Perhaps not to their original state, but a compramise between the original and the current would be a welcome change.
