They are all good, deadly, and very comparable so it's hard to tell. It's up to you how you use it.
Good, experienced players are versatile towards different weapons, not narrow blinded towards one only. Check this link:

Tried G36E again after a long break and this time I know how to use it. Have been owning at long distance and close .Lol I might have to change my opinion for my favourite from L85A1 to G36E. Clicking with the mouse fast enough , G36E can have ROF of 900 rpm. That is cool.

I'd have to say the M16A2 because it does have the perfect mix of firpower and accuracy. Now, I do think EA has modeled it wrong...it's much more deadly in real-life than on BF2...however, if you've practiced with it, it can be very deadly. Even in real-life, the M16A2 obviously prevails over other assult rifles....such as in Iraq....all the insurgents have is AK72's....and we knock dozens of them down every day. If the U.S. chose them as their standard Assult Rifle, they have to be good....
