This is a new poll... I am so sorry to left out the G3 in the previous poll because I hardly use it at all.
Let's start voting. It will be interesting to know the favourite assault rifle of each of you!
Give me your comments on why you like that Assault Rifle!
I like the L85A1 because you got a very nice scope thus enabling you to hit target accurately and detect and kill targets faster. In close combat it rocks too! So there goes my vote.
(To prevent further confusion, this thread is specifically asking the weapons used by Assault/Medic don't ask me why there is no this gun no that gun)
I voted L85A1 as well, I prefer this gun over the G36E especially in non CQC maps because of sweet scope and and single shot.
In any CQC maps I always go 4 the G36E it packs more punch in single shot.
AKs are the best. 47 then the 101. Since I play competatively I try not to use unlocks. My favorite unlock is the G36E, though I rarely use it because I feel like I'm cheating. I also love the F2000.

Your opinion seems interesting. It puzzles me. I have not been doing well in using G36E for close combat-point blank engagement. I fares much better when using full auto assault rifle. The logic is this, close combat , you either strafe or go to prone . Strafing with auto, your bullets spray faster and you hit targets more often. For going prone, in my experience , Me vs enemy who both goes to prone to fire at each other. My chances of winning is much much higher if I use auto rifles. That's why I have avoided G36E since the new patch. G36E is great though in medium to long range, in close combat I have not been doing good so.

L85A1 might have worse deviation than AK's but I have been comfortable with it as much as the AK in CQB. In long range, it is heaps better.

If you can keep them in your crosshairs with a spraying auto while you strafe why can't you keep them in your crosshairs for 2 bursts of the G36E in CQC?

Wow - results are a dead heat between the G3, G36E and AK-101/47. Does that make anyone else feel pretty good? That there's more than one gun that folks swear is the best.

You still get some spread with the G36E. The bullets are not fired all at once, though the rate of fire is higher than the L85A1 (900 rpm vs 600 rpm) and there is some deviation between shots, and recoil. But the spread is much lower than the L85A1, especially if you just hold down the trigger and spray.
So the upshot is, if you can keep the crosshairs on your target the G36E is a lot better. You will land more rounds faster. If you get good at aiming for the head it's great because one burst will usually kill. But if you have trouble keeping the crosshairs on your target the wider spray from the L85A1 might actually help.
I have Spec Forces but it doesn't work on my comp....don't ask me why.
so since I do not know what the weapons of SF are like I would have to say G36C if it was up there....but since it isn't G36E because it's supposed to be exactly like the G36C....except better
I was always a G3 junkie but the patch made it just that much more tasty. If you can aim you aren't effected by it's biggest downfall according to everyone else, the ammo issue.
Nice three-round burst and has the optional 'One-Shot Bullet' we're all so fond of.
I like the three round burst as much as the next guy (perfect mix of power and accuracy) but the M16 just downright sucks...the added accuracy isn't much of an add on the Rifle (if the M4A1 had it I would whore that weapon like no tomorrow but it's full auto) because you can't get the ranged shots in...the M4A1 has a scope but it also has full auto instead of 3Rd burst, I may not like the L85A1's recoil but it's more like the M4A1, which in any situation is better than the M16A2
