Hell, there's a community poll kickin around here that defiantly shows more people pleased with things than not.
Poll here http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56805 shows majority of those with an opinion say "the patch rocks" (only 83 total votes so far though). Considering that the angry people tend to be more vocal (and probably more likely to vote) that's not bad.

You can expect a large number of people who are pleased with the patch don't see the point in wasting time applauding it, because all the whiners and crybabies will just descend upon it like a pack of ravenous dogs.

Even if the proponent never says a single negative thing about the people who feel opposite, the majority detractors *will* behave like the immature prickmonkeys that they are.

There are issues with the patch, but I only have issues regarding the inability to hit a vehicle head on with a AT Rocket. Aside from that im extremely happy with the patch... well i guess there is also the issue of random CTD, but i have noticed a great performance increase of about 15FPS. Where it came from? Who knows... no complaints here :P

Correct me if I'm wrong but can't we thank BF2RS for patch testing?

I personally haven't seen anything "special" about the BF2RS team that makes them worth keeping under EA control.

As far as the patch goes. Its a failure. EA is posting how the "results look good" simply because they aren't going to post that half the community likes it and the other half hates it.

You hit it right on the head. This behavior goes much deeper than internet forums. Civil discourse has been replaced by exchange of angry rhetoric. Rather than a civil, intelligently argued debate we have hateful attacks. The anger of retort is directly proportional to how bad the person lost their debate point. If someone is on the losing end of a point, or find that there is no common ground between viewpoints, why get mad or hateful? Just accept the difference of opinion and move on.

In a place called perfect, your post would be valid. But in reality, people who don't have many problems with BF2 (the lucky ones), tend to believe that NO ONE can have problems with it.

And so the self-righteous fan boys all rush out, and begin to call out people who constantly have problems. BF2 mysteriously crashing? Stop whining about before I post up another "crybaby" picture. BF2 running like crap? "Stop whining, cause its not true! Your just a noob."

People like yourself that don't have half as many problems as I do, tend to get their pantys shoved up their ass when they see others complaining about REAL problems (as opposed to simply complaining about the "whiners" themselves).

...or just leave us to keep pointing out stuff that EA has obviously missed (or even better...leave us to discuss our own conversations). Is it really to hard to practice civil discource as you suggest? If you see a group of people talking amongst themselves about how they miss the C4, is really neccicary to give them opposing viewpoints (in this case, it can characterized with posts referring to certain players as noobs, or whiners).

Must be those rose colored glasses they issue at Dice.

Re: EA Games - Community Update - 2/16/06

This thread sure turned into a flamefest on DICE/EA pretty quick. No game is perfect and the sooner everyone realizes that they won't get perfection (especially from a piece of software) the sooner they can try to enjoy themselves. Please, show me a perfect game then ask yourself why you still play BF2.

If you guys are upset it would be much more constructive to make specific comments on what is wrong or broke in the game in a civil manner. Proclaiming that the majority of people are having problems with the game, or that the patch was totally F'd up and so-and-so can't make a game worth a damn, isn't going to get you anywhere with the developers who worked hard to make the game and the subsequent patches.

Then again, if you guys truely enjoy gathering into threads of rabid "foaming at the mouth" video game players, firing off angry rhetoric towards a monolith that could give two sh*ts about how you feel things need to be perfectly suited just to your gaming style, have at it. I guess that is part of the reason for having a forum. You do a wonderful job of coming off looking foolish and rather immature. To each their own.
