Re: Claymore is so stupid!
I loved the way the AT mines and clays could be demoed. It meant that you had to place them skillfully. You couldn't just do like the typical moron and lay them out in the open, you had to find a place the enemy would trip on them before they could see them. I always loved laying AT mines at the end of a bridge... just 2, and stagger them so friendlies (who could see them, thanks to the skull and bones) could angle through, but when an enemy tried going straight through, they'd get blown up. I was proud of my hiding skills. They served me in 2 ways... the mines wouldn't get shot by a tank, and they were more likely to get runover by jeeps who couldn't blow them up anyway.
I saw where someone said something about having a squad member just to set off claymores... I had that experience on Sharqi last night. The TV station had a claymore at EVERY LANDING on the stairs, AND in the flag room. I was a medic, and my squadmate said after the first claymore "It's gonna be full of claymores.... I'll set em off." And I revived him. Great score for me, not so good for the sniper, and very very time-consuming for everybody.
IIRC, real Claymores have 2 options for detonation. One is a tripwire, the other is a "clacker" (manual detonation.) Good luck gettina tripwire to work in a game... Plus, the suicidal snipers get boned, because you've got a couple of seconds to get out of the way before it blows up. (Just move THEN shoot the bastid.)
Teammates can't set them off now? I hadn't seen that... Sounds like crap to me. Nothing like some tard blocking every single road out of the base with AT mines, and then finding them with your jeep....

Heck, I think I got more claymore kills than sniper kills one round on strike at karkand, and that wa alot of kills.
