Not quite true. Problem was that most people flew the plane depending on their reflexes and subconsciousness, instead of constantly thinking and preplanning their attack.

maybe it's not 100% true cuz noob pilots will likely get shot down by AA sites before they can get you, but once they sneak up on you and get a lock on, u cant dodge those 6 deadly missiles. (unless they suddenly decide to visit friendly aircrafts and turn 90 degrees just before hitting ur tail)

Well, yah. Im still living in pre 1.2 patch world. I havent tried the madness 1.2 out yet.

In case you can't tell there has been a lot of people who were good pilots and played pre patch. I think a lot of thier were really frustrated at the crap that went on over getting and flying aircraft.


It was so unbelieveably BS the number of noobs tking, parking vehicles in front of aircraft, doing the suicide/punish BS because they didn't get a plane.

All of the things youve mentioned are TOTALLY clear and I feel for you because I was in the exact same "positions". I´m the kind of guy who wont let go. If I was TKed by a plane, that guy better find another server becayse A) If Im on Essex, he wont be able to rearm. if he gets me first he gets a punish and a kick B) If hes on non Essex side, I took the other team and grounded him- until he left the server. I could get extremely ****ed at those guys. Thats just my nature. But the problem was- many, many of those smacktards did it deliberately. In non-adminned servers they completely **** up the gameplay on the air strip/carrier. Taking a BHAWK with 6 people and either ramming it into the jet with bailing out first or slamming it into the water, thats just the start. N00b ejectors dont bother me much.

In all this smacktardness, there are newbie pilots who discover something new in this game, they dont TK, they dont do ****, but if they get a plane they expect to have a chance.

This patch kind of made it harder for people who would like to try to use air assets- to get reasonable skills on them to enjoy the game.

In a sence this 1.2 patch will not "fix things" but it will further push the gap between planewhores and people who would take the plane and DO something with it. And anyone saying planewhores A) Lack skills B) Dont do anything for the team is ignorant. They just dont do what you expect them to do.

Yes I said it... it takes skill now, to be able to know how to get away from missles and then sneak up on people... omg it's great i love this patch. Got 7 straight AA kills yesterday, then hoppped into a plane which everybody was too afraid to get in, and then dominated in it. Thanks you EA no more noobs hogging the planes. Wanna get better? LOMAC.

just today i saw a guy get 102 points in the j-10 on wake island. so some people are still able to avoid the AA.

Just went 57-4 on Oman in the F35. Granted there was a little bit of base raping involved, but it was only after their jets took me down and then raped the carrier.

The tactics for flying successfully aren't that difficult to figure out, but I'm keeping my research to myself.

Aweel timed barrel roll actually works quite good. Yesterday in a serve i did one as i was chasing an enemy jet, saw the missle go right above me as i looped, and it hit the jet infront of me.

So did you do a barrel roll or a loop? :hmm:

Dude.... the only thing the J10 on wake has to do is stay away from the Essex and the artillery island.... there aren't any other AA's for the USMC's to use. With chopper hit points reduced a J10 can take down a BH no problem in one pass. All I have seen in PLA domination on Wake thus far.

I'm a co-pilot and I love this patch, I no longer have noob pilots that try to do all the work themselfs, instead pilots are lineing up a target for me BUT keeping his life and mine #1 priority.

Sorry not completly true. First he still has to have all 6 missles,
Second he has to get them all off on his first lock or maintain the lock to get all 6 off as you said in your post.

And most importantly he has to be able to find you to shoot them.

I have had a lot of locks which I take way more serious then I used to. Not all of them resulted in a kill. Sometimes they hit me and I had to repair. They are not yet autokills. Just guessing I would say they are still less than 30%. Hell I used to hit that many trees doing low levels before the patch.

I like the new patch wayyy better because everyone else is easier to kill. It used to be sometimes those armored guys just wont get in a tank. Thats boring. Now the aa guys have happily obliged and given me something to shoot at when there aren't any tanks. Thx guys.

IMO, good pilots dont use missles for anything other than a jet that is right in front of you (like 5 ft. lol).

but now... you can friggen lock on in the middle of a turn and that shit will still hit them.

its all about stealth.

Thats a fact. I never used to get all keyed up when I saw a pilot running below me. He could go bomb his targets and I would bomb mine. If I happen to some in behind them, well then I'd shoot them.


Not anymore. Every airplane I see is my new best friend. LOL

it's just that now bf2 AA is on par with bf1942 AA, and our tactics need to change too. I'm not gonna list the tactics that we used then or that we'll use now, but this doesen't change my scores very much at all :)
