If you play the US side, repair a BlackHawk and commander assets in a big map with less players, i.e. Clean Sweep for 32 or 20 players. The game usually lasts longer with 32 than with 64 players, increasing the amount of damage inflicted by the enemy.

Oman is a good place for both, a US and a MEC engineer, to repair tanks and AA emplacements, because there are so many and they get bombarded a lot by the both air powers.

Granted, Expert engineer is almost impossible to achieve.

    Keep wrenching.

-Join a server with a high flag count and a 64 player map with only like 30 people.

-Ask someone in the game, or a friend, if they want to form a squad, and do an armor convoy.

-You and a squad member, both be engineers, both grab an apc/or tank, and go fight.

-Stick together and fight, nothing will kill you except C4, and you will constantly be fixing eachother.
I hear ya champ, have been doing this with my squad and got 9 repair points the other day just couldnt make it before the tickets ran out, lol, keep trying will get it soon

^I can't seem to get Basic explosives.

I got mine on Mashtuur City, it was on the hill, got all my points on the hill by fixing commander assets, the enemy kept trying to take that spawn, so they kept comming from one spawn point which was backed up at the top, and they came down the hill and kept blowing up the arty etc, so I repaired arty got 2/3 points, then reapired the Scan got another repair point, thats 4 the enemy blew it up again, another 4 and again, I ended up with like 16 repair points.

            Off topic:
I have notiched you get one repair point for a half repaired assest. Only me that have noticed that?

            Back to topic:
Got my Veteran on Wake Island. If you as PLA can hold the airfield the whole game, and the USMC keep blowing up your assest, then you can easily get your veteran.

Engineering still seems to be the least rewarding of all classes. I repaired both bridges on Karland and got one repair point! (I have no idea how the game calculates repairs, maybe there's some bug in the game), but the biggest frustration to me is that I'm always being outdone by a stupid supply crate which magically repairs equipment at the base. On a map like Clean Sweep on the USMC side, I'll be way over on one side of the spawn repairing the satellite, while the commander drops a supply box between two artillery pieces and repairs both at once, so the half a point I get from repairing the satellite is all I get out of the deal.

Are they ever going to take this magical feature out of the game? It would certainly make the engineers a more valued asset in the commander's eyes. If they don't, at least increase the points received for repairing.

                Jimmy,

The problem is if you're commanding, there are very few players who are engineer and most of the time they are not paying attention to repairing the assets. Therefore you have to have supply crates to ensure all of your assets continue to function. I have played games on Wake as commander where I had engineers standing withing 50m of destroyed assets and not even bother to attempt to repair. But I think you're right about the amount of work for the number of points being ridiculous. You really should get like 1.5 points for each repair of an asset.

For all you guys who were asking earlier, you only get Repair points for vehicles that have a teamamte in them. In other words, getting out of your car and repairing it without someone else in it will not give you anything.

True you don't get any points for repairing a vehicle that no one is in.

Drive around in a Hummvee or FAV and repair EVERYTHING!
Don't get out of the vehicle, simply drive around and "Auto-fix" as it were.

When I'm repairing assets and I see a supply crate coming down I just back up and grenade it (watching out for friendlies, of course). 1 grenade does the trick.

Re: Veteran, Expert Engineer repair tips?

I never tried this myself (considered it "not nice" ), but thought about it few times.

Go to Daqing Oilfields map, and find one server/round where enemy bomber is constantly bombing commander assets. When bomber destroys them, you repair them.

Granted, you could have mate fly enemy bomber while you repair assets, but that'd be considered "not ethical", I guess But then again, many people got their veteran badge by repairing jeeps in water, so...

Bomber destroys UAV/SCAN/ARTI in one run (each piece), so it shouldn't take too much time to get 10 repair points.

I never saw this being done on Gulf of Oman, or Operation Cleansweep, but I see bombers destroying assets on Daqing Oilfields very often.

I'm still trying, though, to repair enough vehicles on Karkand, in order to reach 10 points, but it just seems damn hard. Or I never end up on the right server :)
