    Veteran, Expert Engineer repair tips?

I am having a very difficult time getting repair points. I thought I heard something about them fixing it in this patch but I guess not. I can end up repairing 3 arty pieces, the uav and satellite and get like 2 repair points out of it! Its horrible! I brought my buddy along for a karkand map and stayed with his tank the entire time, in case he would get attacked by antoher tank, or anti tank etc, Id jump out and repair fast. The entire round doing that Id end up with a total of like only 7 points. How are you supposed to get 23 for Expert let alone 10 for veteran??

I was on a 64 man Karkand map and the MEC attacked our assets. They had a squad leader that was hiding and they just kept spawning on him. I was in a lav-25 and I was engineer. I just kept shooting and repairing and I amazed myself by getting 10 repair points.. It was very crazy there for a few minutes. If that wouldn't have happened I would still be working for my veteran engineer badge.
It seems quicker to repair things if you are in a vehicle. I really don't have any advice except keep trying.

best way is to be engineer - and get in a hummer - and drive around. You'll fix any vehicle that you drive past (don't forget to stop to repair fully - whizzin by will only repair them a bit).

You can do this with anything at all that reacts to the wrench. Fix bridges by driving real close to them, fix arty by parking near it for a bit, keep close to tank columns to provide repair support.

Also try getting into a BH and hit the "f3" button and then fix will in the chopper. You have to look down and to the left to do it. From what I hear, BH's need all the repairing they can get after the patch.

I don't think you get points for repairing bridges, and in the BH F3 is a gunner position; I find the F6 position is best for repairing it.

I failed to even get basic.

Do you get points for repairing any vehicle, or just one an ally is in?

The way I got my veteran was by sitting in an ATV (something I felt my team could win the round without) in SF as commander and driving up to an asset after it got blown up by an enemy spec ops. It would get repaired while I was commanding, and then after the asset was fixed, I would drive to another asset and park there for a bit, all the while viewing the commander window. As for the expert badge, I have a ways to go still, but I have no idea how I will get that many points.

I'm a veteran engineering and almost expert, and the best way to do it, is as follows:

-Join a server with a high flag count and a 64 player map with only like 30 people.

-Ask someone in the game, or a friend, if they want to form a squad, and do an armor convoy.

-You and a squad member, both be engineers, both grab an apc/or tank, and go fight.

-Stick together and fight, nothing will kill you except C4, and you will constantly be fixing eachother.

I got mine as MEC on Warlord - all of the assets are close together and the terrain makes it easy to hide from the spec ops guys while they do their business. Part of the time I was on foot and part of the time in the APC. I was actively defending the assets, but you could always turn a blind eye toward that if you want.

I also repaired a little bit and then moved on so that when the enemy saw an asset newly repaired they could not just run over and kill me with my wrench out.

Probably easiest if it is a 64 player map with <=32 players in the game.

EDIT: It was my veteran that I got, expert seems just about impossble in normal game play.

ironically after i got verteran i seem to be able to get 10 repair points quite often. Expert is a no hoper i think, ive never got anywhere near it.
Got my verteran in a BH with aggresive spec ops going after assets, realising i was in with a chance of the badge i spent the rest of the round chasing down friendly armour. I would have got it again last night on Karkand, sitting in a jeep with a tank in front and an apc either side. Risky since i had no real protection but the armour soaked up rockets quite nicely.
Its deffinately not a badge you can plan on getting like the resupply or medic, it does depend on being lucky enough to have an opposition of spec ops or AT.

I turned a blind eye towards one or two AT troopers. And my tank 'scraped' the wall a bit (someone plz tell me if empty vehicles can give you repair points) but the round ended *too* soon.

Repairing is such a pain in the ass, you can do a massive amount of repairs and get 1/4 of what you deserve.
Ive gone whole rounds repairing my tank from 25% life to 100% about 20 times, alos driving next to the APC, and also driving up and fixing assests..i got about 8 repair points..wtf..

So I got on Sharqi, my Vodnik rolled off the hill, I didnt want to die so I hopped in the back and started repairing.

For those of you with Special foces I can highly recommend the map "The Iron Gator" which is basically the aircraft carrier. Join the USMC and go jump into the AA gun (viewing deck spawn is right next to it)

Use it to spam the choppers and the APC, if the MEC have any sense they will use the APC to destroy the AA gun, they should do so even more now after the patch.

When you see the APC missile aproach bail out, sit by the lower part of the gun (the missile part) and go prone and repair away, jump back in, rinse and repeat.

If they have a good driver, he'll destory the AA again as soon as it spawns, the APC can take its health of very fast even with just the main gun.

I got my 10 points In a round doing that easily, hopefuly 25 isnt too much more of a stretch!

Yep This technique works like a charm, given enough time 25 repair points should be do-able.

I also thought they were adjusting repair points, probably just something I read that so many people wanted but EA/Dice did'nt.
I was Commander a few weeks back on Warlord and enemy Spec Ops were destroying the assets constantly, I did'nt even get 5 repair points.
Also spent alot of time driving a buggy following Tanks n APC's on Wetlands and Fushe.
Repair points are just f****** ridiculous and do not make being an Engineer worth it.
The only way of getting the points is playing a 64 server with few players, or "accidently" driving into the water in a Vodnik on a map like Wake and hitting F3, China at the start of the round is best as it's quite for the first few minutes, sometimes the entire round.
Until Dice/EA do fix the repair points I'm not wasting my time trying for Basic/Veteran anymore.
