I've been playing with the new noobtoob and checking out how it works post 1.2. I discovered a couple things that run counter to what a lot of folks are saying 'round here, so I thought I'd post 'em.
The physics on it's bounce are definatly a little... odd. It seems to act like a soft object. It bounces of walls more like a sock than a hard metal object.
This is what has caused people to believe that GL rounds don't bounce off the ground. They actually do... they just don't bounce very high. Thus, point blank shooting is still possible. There's a very short delay before it goes off, but if you shoot it into the ground at someone's feet, it's not going to bounce very far. Result: Noobtoobing shall continue.
The blast radius has been reduced somewhat, but suprisingly the damage for a direct hit seems to have increased. Before, a direct hit on a buggy would cause it to burn for a moment before blowing. Now a direct hit pops the buggy instantly.
I haven't looked for hard numbers on this, tho, so if anyone has 'em do share!
Oh one last note... GLs are much more effective against lowflying choppers now. Just don't shoot 'em when they're too close. Getting the shell back in the face kinda sucks. :p
