Sentinel has a very good point regarding pre patch attck helos, if I was lucky to have a good pilot as a gunner then arriving at a flag on Wake for instance was sooooo easy, just circle and kill everyone around. If someone got on the AA then when the missiles hit we would turn around and blow them away! Not much they could do, although there are always a few good Antitank who would hit us occasionally, then we go off to the airstrip/carrier for repairs. I have been in the opposite situation many times, you are being hammered by a heli on a flag and there is nothing that you can do, but die and come back as AT!(and be a good shot- but they just go off for repairs etc.....).

"aimbots" WTF do you think ground to air missiles are all about!!! They are designed to hit aircraft and do damage! (would a real life pilot live through a SAM hit?) Also pilots - do you realise that air to air usually hit and kill? Most kills via aircraft (in real life) are made now over 20 miles+ (at least! e.g. F15) never mind visual kills on Wake! It would be nice to do some fancy role and survive but is this realistic in all accounts? I appreciate that there should be some survival factor but not some formula to get out of it everytime, if you are behind and locked on to a heat source then with with a sidewinder you are dead meat (Falklands war 1982 anyone!).

I will be happier now fighting away on land with a reduced worry of getting shot and bombed with no way of getting back with the plane whores!
