I'm gonna make this easy for people like Kattspya.. BF2 was meant to be a TEAM game. MEaning, teamwork to achieve goals and wins..

If you want to jet whore and copter whore, here is what you do. Get some of the people on your team to play sniper. Shouldn't be too difficult. Then have them camp the AA sites... Someone pops into the AA seat, headhot 'em. The Jet or Heli is free to do its damage....

Now, to stop snipers from camping AA sites. We can have team members counter-snipe, or any number of other sniper elimination tactics. The commo allows players wo identify sniper locals..

So really what you need to take out an AA site and Flag position is, TEAMWORK... Amazing but true...

Im going to make it real easy for people like cornbread and quote myself while bolding the salient point which somehow wasn't understood by poor cornbread.

Shouldn't the next step be making knifes and assault rifles have the same lethality? I mean having assault rifle users getting a better score than knifers isn't very balanced now is it? You need to understand the differance between balance and E-penis envy.

(i'm not dissatisfied with lethality of AA only the autoaim nature of it)

Fly high and only attack targets that are "safe" or that your teammates spot. You know, like a REAL pilot.

Bottom line is - those who whine the most are those used to "easy kills", and amusing K ratios. Highest K ratio I had in a round, flying ALONE in a chopper, was 53:1, and that 1 death was me crashing. That's just not normal, no matter how bad enemy team was.

Man I appreciate your honesty....and your comments also show why the kill to death ratio has no meaning....you can look at the stats of most players and tell that their ratio comes from flying...most high to kill death ratio players have poor team scores....which means they arent catching flags, destroying strategic objects or getting damage assits points. Then they brag about how good they are. The game is more life like now and pilots are going to have to think about how to survive.

I am very happy with the current AA behavior. 2 missiles for 1 plane or chopper, it is ok.
In real life, it only takes 1 missile…
One round from a tank should bring down a chopper, but it does not. It takes skill to get that round hit in the first place, but it’s not awarded as it should, unfortunately…
Maybe a little room for evasive maneuvers should have been provided, just to spice up air defense. It’s almost impossible to evade a rocket now, which is not so good.

I tried what you suggested, Variable, and those tactics worked quite well. Circle around high in the sky waiting for ground troops to spot enemy armor, dive in for a quick kill, and return to original altitude. Such a short exposure time made surviving AA quite easy. I'll just have to remember to check my six more often than I used to for bogies.
