One tip i didnt see here was to stripe your disks together.
I see quite a few sigs around with people with sli systems. These are all atleast nvidia nforce 4 which has a raid controller in it.
Relocate your bf2 data and profile dirs (which contain your cache files) to those stripe disks and you'll see a significant drop in the time it takes to get in game.
To relocate your profile dir you'll probably need to make a hard link (not a shortcut) from your documents folder where bf2 is expecting to find your profile and cache files to your new striped location.
