Anyone that relys on the gl for dear life is a "noob" or new to the game. If they would learn click disipline they would not need the gl. The gl is concidered a noob toob because of its shear lack of skill to get a kill. For example, when you know someone is behind a wall according to a uav and you jump infront of them you dont have time to kill them if they noob toob. By the time you put 3 bullets in them they already fired thier toob and your dead and most of the time they live...This weapon should not be in the game. Now if peeps are using is from a distance I am cool with that.

[QUOTE=Colinloves]How far is it acceptable to throw a nad?? - I guess the GL should be the same as the nad, right?

I really hope you aren't throwing your nads at all, since that would probably be considered unhealthy, and rather painful :p

Anyways, the point is if someone is dumb enough to use a GL as their primary weapon all the time, frequently killing themselves and generaly ****ing people off, then you should just whip out a sniper rifle and blow his fool ass out of the map. No matter how many people try to argue that it takes "skill" to use the n00bt00b, it really doesn't (long range isn't hard, if you are that bad at judging distance, then you might be suffering from a mild case of retardation). *point* *click* *free kill*
The target being shot at has absolutely no time to save themselves, either by moving away or by fragging the twat who happens to be launching high speed death balls all around the map. It is true that some skilled people do use the GL, but if they are that good with explosives, then they should save themselves the whining etc. and just use the G3, which happens to kick complete and total ass if you try practising with it for more than 2 minutes, taking usually around 3-4 shots to kill someone, and only 1 or 2 if you aim at the upper torso/head area.

Meanwhile, if you insist on still using the GL, watch out for me, cause I'll blow your ass back to Pakistan

Yeah, Yeah, Im a Noob and your Dead.

Im gettin to where I can type that faster than any other phrase I use in BF2. If I can kill you, I will. If I can kill you and tick you off, Ive just taken you out of the game. Thats why I use the GL a lot on some servers and rarely on others.
Oh, I killed myself too. So. . . . You failed to capture my flag! I get to respawn here and you have to respawn way back there.
I will kill you by any means necessary (no hacks or cheats).
I killed you. I defended my flag. What part do you not understand.
Skills? What does skills have to do with killing you? Your dead, arent you? I have no skills? ? ? I just killed you didnt I?
Can I break it down any simpler and make it easier for you to understand. What part of dead dont you get. . . . . . .Red

Isn't GL splash damage range being reduced in the upcoming patch? Or is it only the activation range being changed?

A noobtuber is someone who uses the GL to his advantage. A noob is someone who bitchs about it

Thing is though, you can't call someone bunnyhoppingnoobtoobing scum, that will just get you kicked and banned from the server. Happened to me twice today.

In a perverse way, noob toobing is becoming a skill of its own. I've been killed many times by a noob toober, and a lot of those times I haven't heard the explosion - they've put the nade square into my body!

I hate noob toobers with a passion - they should all die horribly.

Patch 1.2 won't remove noob toobing, it will just cut down on it.

With all the slagging off the GL gets on this forum, Im surprised by the response here.

I always compare a noobtube to a tank or jet. Abit unfair, but thats war baby.

I agree, The granade launcher is my favorite weapon to use to make the enemy team mad, which makes them less effective. The engineer kit is my favorite. I usually like to toob groups of 2 or more enemy soldiers especially if a medic is in the group. I really cant resist the large groups by the flag poles. I have scored 8 points with one shot. Cant be done with any other weapon, even a jet has to use more than one bomb. . . . .Red

That sounds pretty dead-on to me.

And BF does require some skill. I'm pretty confident that if you can't aim, you're going to fail spectacularly.

I'm of the opinion that if it comes with the game, utilize it to the fullest.

When I playing Enemy Territory there was always controversy about rifle nades as well as the 'n00btube', the Panzerfaust.

Nothing was more annoying than 'trick' rifle nade shots, with nades bouncing off the wall, around the corner and taking out 4 players.Or the leaping Panzer n00b...bunnyhopping into your midst to take out as many of the enemy as possible.

Now with Min Arming Distance being added to the GL there'll be a whole new round of bitching about 'bank shots' and 'Unrealistic Bounces'.

Yeah, it sucks to die so 'cheaply', but what the hell? You'll respawn in a few seconds.

This is a game, not a professional discipline requiring years of study and practice, like law or medicine.

The way I understand the term NoobTuber is when somebody that just started playing finds the GL a lot easier to use that the rifle itself and constantly uses it. I guess after a while you are starting to get better so you become tuber, but you are still noob in everything else until you start playing with the rest of the weapons.

Yes that is the main reason why its over used.
The problem is that all the other weapons when moving have redical (sp?) bloom aka if you shot the shot placement changes to a larger area and thus makes it harder to it the target. This applies to all handheld weapons except 4 i think. Those are the gl, c4, at mines and hand nades. Now 2 of those have become questionable weapons. The c4 because ppl can use them as oversized nades and become c4 grendiers. Movement helps them get the c4 further and thus makes them very difficult to kill. The other is the gl. The thing is that all the other weapons have redical bloom with the exception of the gl. Example: i am running with the ak 101 and i see someone about 20m away. If i shoot on the move i have a pretty low chance of landing enuff shots to kill him. Same example with the gl. From my experience it doesnt matter if you are jumping or prone the gl accuracy never changes. So i can still run but lead the target and fire the nade. If i get at least a close hit he dies instantly or is in critcal hp. This would be exceptable if this were unreal tournement or quake but this is battlefield 2 not quake. so i would suggust this. With the inclusion of the changes in 1.2 to the gl also give it a degree of accuracy. So if you are on the move it will not be as accurate as if you were standing still. And dont make it an instant perfect accuracy make it like 1-0.5 seconds of standing still to reach a low level of deviation otherwise the problem remains.

I think it's a hard line to draw.

The distinction between using the GL and whoring it in a noobish way is a difficult one in some ways.

I would say as a rule that I consider running around, crouching, proning and tubing to be fine. When you hide behind a wall or corner and bunnyhop it, I don't think that's fine.

I've got nothing against using the GL, it's just when you combine it with lame tactics to avoid being hit back. Be a man and keep your feet on the ground whilst tubing.
