Well I think if you read through all the posts, like I did, you would find that pilots dont play the same game the rest of us do. BF2 is a game that revolves around flag capture and defense. Which, by the way, cant be done in a jet. A sadder point, Id also like to make, is most chopper pilots "wont" do it either. I guess thier to leet or something.
I played the Oman map one time and we had all flags except the MEC air field. So I got myself about half way down the runway and begun to snipe pilots out of the MEC jet. It took me awhile to figure out why they werent shooting back, they probably thought someone had used the noob ejector on them. One of them finally parked a vodnik on the runway and started shooting at me but was killed by the jet trying to take off. After that I left, I couldnt kill them as fast as they were killing each other. I Fly the Jets a lot, I usually fly them in LAN mode because of all the "BS" at the Air Field. The guy who posted earlier about getting a flight sim game was right. You wanna learn how to be a great pilot try one of those. The stormovik one for jets, and a game called Apache: Long bow for chopper pilots.
Maybe EA needs to do something about the Pilot problem in a future patch. I cant tell you who should fly but I can tell you who shouldnt. First, the commander shouldnt fly, no exceptions, for obvious reasons. Second, Squad leaders shouldnt fly, except transport choppers and when there are only 2 people in a squad and both in the Air Craft. Third, people with less than 1000 points shouldnt fly, No exceptions. The Marine Corps says that you cant be a good pilot unless you know what goes on on the ground. Every Pilot in the Marines has Ground experience and they get a refresher every year. With less than 1000 points how could you know anything much about the game. Maybe adding 2 seconds to your respawn time for every TK (vehicle kills on the runway dont count)would help but I really dont know.
As you can tell I really dont like pilots, in this game. 80% of them shouldnt be allowed to play this game, ever. The other 20% try hard to help the team but cant do much because of the other 80%.
I was in the Air Force and I think the F-22's are in Florida and at Nellis. Yes they are loud but still not nearly as loud as the F-4's or C-5's. Both of those could rattle your barricks windows, on take off, a half mile away. Well another long post. . . . . .Red

XXXgrimreaperXXX, I'm glad you acknowledge what you did as bad behaviour but it seems likely to happen again if you feel there should be some kind of etiquette involved in waiting for jets, etc.

I love flying the jets, too, but I've always been of the belief that they're fair game. If someone else gets to the jet before I do, they're welcome to take it and I certainly won't stand in their way or TK. Likewise, if I get in one first, I expect others to clear the runway.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who are already there and waiting because I feel they should be out helping the team as I do. I played several rounds on Wake this morning (on the Chinese side) and it was the biggest retard convention I've ever seen. Literally no-one could take off because they'd get killed by half a dozen teammates and while half the team was fighting it out over the J-10s, I was capturing flags and keeping us in the game. In a single round, I recapped the Airfield flag on four separate occasions whilst the people waiting for jets did nothing; it was only the players working for the team who ensured we had jets in the first place.

My attitude is exactly the same on maps where the airfield is uncappable. If you're standing around waiting for a vehicle, you're not helping the team and, frankly, do not deserve any special privileges.

I think, if anything, the most prized vehicles should go to the players who are working hardest for the team, not the ones standing around doing nothing.

It's people like you who can never play infantry who ruin this game.

Playing vehicles in a vehicle based game supplimented with infantry, is ruining the game? Do you even have the slightest clue as to the whole point behind the Battlefield series?
