    2) The superbowl was rigged. Lets see you try to do that to the FA cup final without a horrible riot breaking out - thats the true magic of normal football. Accountability through violence :p
Do you have proof that the Superbowl was rigged? AF has more mature fans, who know that destroying a whole city for a SPORT is not worth it.

    4) Ice hockey is better than NFL. Specifically, Vancouver Canucks.
Didn't they go on a strike over pay? They don't give a sh!t about their fans.

    5) I have to watch the world cup, I am forced to. I work for a betting company and as such will be working for all the games, so no BF2 for me.
    I can feel you pain:)

Sorry, my bad. I don't really watch basketball though, its one of the sports I can avoid at work. unfortunatley I have to watch the Lakers/Mavs game later on.

And for the record I dont really approve of football violence, I just find it kinda funny. I probably wouldnt if I was an Englishman at a Galatasaray game though, but like all things, violence is subjective.

Organized sports = replacement for tribal battle = defusing of warlike tendencies.

BF2 = Does same things, and is more fun and requires interaction from the fans. BF2 for teh win

^ what he said. Can't stand american football, too much showboating and stoppping/starting. I don't see why everyone has to show off after making a play. So you tackled him, big ****ing deal, stop dancing around.

Rugby on the other hand, no ***** helmets or padding and no 'I'm so great' after tackles, etc.

Why do the yanks call it American Football? Shouldn't it be called RunWithTheBallAsFarAsYouCan? Do they even kick the ball in that game? And to Tegan, mentions that they have to exhaust the opponent... well how does that happen when the dude on the sideline keeps calling for a timeout :|

And it is not a World Series... I don't see the Arabs, Israeli's or any European countries attempting to qualify in that. Oh wait an advert, oh goodie...

                        Dont like football.

Ill watch if there is a riot on the pitch or the last remaining minute the player takes out a gun and shoots the goalie but other than I cant be bothered.

But also doesnt mean I will be playing bf2 non stop through the summer. Its usually just to fill in the gaps of my day that I dont know what to do with myself.

The only thing American Football and Football have in common is the name. I don't get why Europeans get all upset about American Football.

Just because it is the most popular isn't because it is the most fun. The reason it is popular is because anyone can play it. You just need a ball. With hockey you need skates, a stick, a puck/ball and some protection. In basketball you need a ball and a hoop. With baseball you need a glove, a bat, and some sort of a base.

                          BF2 > World Snore

I honestly don't see the infatuation with American Football. I had to turn over from the superbowl due to the fact that play stopped after every few seconds. Some guy would get tackled, referee blows up, then guys slap each others asses. Then about a minute later, it happens again.
I love how Americans say how hard the players are, but I really doubt they could play a full match of rugby against our boys here. No pads remember!

American Football requires strategy. You can't just kick the ball around. You have to line up, send people in motion, try and trick the opposing defense, get them off balance. It's the nuances, the little things, that make American Football great. Also, to compare Rugby and American Football is dumb. Yah, sure Rugby guys play with no pads *yawn* big deal. I have seen plenty of rugby, and never once did I see a 235lb, solid rock of a man LAUNCH HIMSELF at a guy and completely level him. You see that every day in football when a cornerback or a safety levels a wide-out. If you didn't wear pads in American Football you would be killed, plain and simple. Ever seen a linebacker hit a guy so hard he knocks him clean out? Saw it twice during the playoffs. Impacts so loud you could hear the "crack"....and that's with pads on.

The "stop and start" of the game is the thinking part of the game. That's why American Football is great. It's not just raw strength, or how fast you can run, or how far you can kick the ball...it's about how well you recognize coverage, how well you game-plan and scheme. It's just as much thought as it is pure athletisism.

Anyways, I think the World Cup is cool, and I respect that people dig soccer...but don't hate on American Football when you obviously know little to nothing about it. (Not YOU as in the quoted poster, just 'you' in general).
American Football is not my cup of tea slow game,im a true football fan(soccer)i also play myself.
but rugby is a true world sport lots of diffent countrys play.
and if you take the time to watch a few games you will see things like stamping ,punching in the face.have you seen the state of a rugby players face after a game ? bleeding coliflower ears the lot.
rugby is a mans game and is full of 20+stone power houses!!
plus they play on real turf in cold weather not the astro turf.

i respect that yeh some of the takles would hurt or indeed knock you out(but how often does this happen?)(not as often as a rugby player geting stomped and smacked in the face) and to add to that they dont take 5 mins rest every play.so its more flowing game.
