If sniper rifles in BF2 were 1 shot kill weapons, they should be limited like in PR

i love old threadsGreat, another 2 year old thread. Encouraging the new members to use the search option has officially gone to the other extreme.
The one shot kills with the snipers (not talking about headshots) was an open issue when EA was working on 1.03 patch, but never implemented the 100% damage on any of the sniper rifles. All you get is 95.Comment

Here's an idea.
The M95 can only be fired when prone. Whenever you prone, there is an animation showing the bipod being set up. M95 accuracy stays the same (when proned).
M95 kills 1 shot to the torso on NON ARMORED kits (e.g. Medic, sniper, spec ops, engie).
Damage stays the same for armored kits. This would probably 1. Decrease the amount of medic whores 2. Create some DANGER for the medic to just run out and revive someone who just got killed.
Yes, it would probably be overused, and people would just get better at prone spamming so as to avoid the 1s1k entirely, but I think this would be a good way of forcing the point whores to adapt.Comment

that is how EA originally did the M82A1 sniper rifle. it is another .50 rifle that is in the files, but EA never made sound files, and the scope is all screwed up. you can only fire this weopon when prone.Originally posted by JumintigerHere's an idea.

EA did not put this in the game because bieng a .50, it would do the same damage as the M95, but the M82A1 is semi auto, so, um, yea, but i put this gun in the sniper kit on sp, added the m95 sound files, removed the "only fire when prone 1" line, and killed all the bots
