Agreed, I don't want a CS equivalent of the AWP in BF2.

To however even thought of a sniper 1 hit kill anywhere is an idiot. Why should it kill you in one hit if shot in the foot. I think the m95 should be a one hit kill in the chest head of unarmored targets and keep it the same or maybe do a bit less damage to armored targets. And if people get hurt any way variable and die in one hit kill from snipers than what difference would it really make?

5.i like to snipe in bf2 becuase it requires some skill to snipe, and making 1sk(not headshots)would take the skill and fun out of the game for me.

even though the gun can miss from time to time, dont just fire the m95 1 shot after another.take atleast 2 seconds to steady ur aim (lower dev)and u will hit.i have 60% accuracy with the m95 and hoping to get 65-70 when new patch comes out.
I second that blade. I've owned BF2 for a little over a week now, and I only play as a sniper. I'm not that good, but i can get headshots reasonably easily with the m95, which is all i use. As far as I'm concerned, sniping shouldn't be easy. Requires patience and steady aim. Hence, having to wait two seconds or so to set up a good shot, and aiming for the head for a 1 shot kill.

Oh there's been quite a few threads started on the 1S1K topic, and so many times people have suggested the sniper rifle become 1S1K- they usually say "Just like Modern Combat' as well.
Obviously a request by noob AND enthusiast sniper kit players; they don't seem to know how much it puts the game out of balance on the PC version.

But for sure, I'm glad the sniper accuracy was increased in the patches. Hell- it was like playing long-distance reverse-russian-roulette; just hoping one of the shots is actually a hit before the other guy wisens up and kills you.

Even so- I'm actually a non-sniper guy I'm all for sniping with my G36C at the moment. While I'm here, can anyone quickly mention the benefits of the SCAR over the G36C?

I don't encourage hijacking of threads, but I can answer that quickly.

            There are none.

If you aim for the head, it should be one-shot-one kill. If you aim for the chest area it should take two. Yes snipers would probably get good enough and focus on headshots but those that get shot at would learn not to stay still and in one place for too long. I constantly move in BF2 so getting shot by a sniper rarely happens to me. When I do get shot I make sure not to get shot again. If you are taking a flag don't just sit there reading BF2 Daily Newspaper, move around and watch for enemy troop movement. If you see a sniper, try and make an effort to take him out first because all he will do is try and kill you and possibly spot you letting the enemy know what you are doing and where you are.

              Just my $.02

As far as I can tell from reading dev interviews the L96A1 and the P90 will be unlocks for the SF crowd. So we will meet them in vanilla BF2. The weapons in euroforce will only be available in the 3 euroforce maps. The accuracy and damage of the L96 is anybodys guess.

Back on topic. In BFV the snipers was 1 shot kill and to top it off it was easier to kill running targets. The maps wasn't full of snipers because of that. The usual number was about 2 - 3 snipers per side. Maybe BFV had a different crowd but the sniper kit doesn't suit everyone.

Either way in the next patch the snipers will be more accurate and will pose a bigger threat.

Its all about gameplay, yeah we know it aint really like that but its done to the best it can be. The only things I can think that makes the M95 stand out is as someone else just mentioned, on the kill shot have them die instantly and not be able to be revived. Or take the M24 damage down alittle.

Yeah it should make a huge hole in someones stomach like in tom and jerry but we cant do that. So its basically an M24 that you get to use on PLA and MEC that shoots through glass. And if you are a skilled and dedicated enough sniper you will already love the M95 and get alot of 'through the glass' kills.

How much you want to be that people who want a one shot kill are people who arent all that good at the game?

Unfortunately the unlocks are meant to fill out the two last slots for SF. They will be available in the next patch but only for ppl with SF installed. Vanilla BF already have unlocks for sniper and AT.

I think the M95 should be left only with a better accuracy.
Scoring headshots (and being a good sniper in general) takes a certain amount of thinking and practice, and the benefit of making 1s1k should be left to those willing to invest time in that particular class.
Having a bunch of retards camping everywhere or using the M95 as a kind of supershotgun is gonna cost BF2 a lot of players, including me.

I think it should be a one shot kill in the chest or head, since it is very difficult to get a second shot in. I have been killed many times by an infantry man after the first shot because they can zig and zag. Also most people are down for the count after a bullet blows a hole in their chest.

I always harken back to DCX for bf42, the .50 cal was a one shot kill weapon, but you could only fire when prone and you were very vunerable, the problem is the levels on BF2 are not for the most part as sprawling as DCX and you would have to restrict its use on certain levels.

If they made you have to go prone to fire it, made it more accurate, still be anti-material and pack a good punch on soft targets that would be fair.

Think about how it would limit where you could snipe from if you had to be prone? No more sniping with the barret off the TV station in Sharqi....it would limit the use of a powerful weapon while still keeping it effective.
