Yeah, it's pretty hard to tell sometimes with the red skull. Usually as infantry (not in vehicle), it kind of gets ingnored unless on a ladder or right by a flag.

If you place mines behind FRIENDLY lines (safe for you) you will most likely kill a friendly (stupid)

If you place mines behind ENEMY lines (hazardous) you will most likely kill an enemy (smart)

Seriously, mines are defensive and should be used inside your territory. It's people like you that make the system screwed up.

I also believe this thread highlights the reason C4 is so popular. It's the one remote explosive you can control and keep idiots from tking themselves.

I rarely get tks with the claymores, can't remember if I ever had a tk with the claymore, but when I plant a claymore, usually at the top of a ladder on a building, then I hit team speak and tell my team I have layed claymores at this point, and I have no problem.

Ah, Absuive idiots, lol. Someone moaned at me the other day for not 'driving my tanks in and capping the flag' on wake. I told him that capping is infantries job and my job was to cover them as they advance, which is what I was doing. Some people just don't think simple things out, like how capping a busy flag with a tank is suicide.

i laid some claymores at karkand.....near the alleys at the hotel, i see a teamate running towrds it, and i think "oh no here comes a teamkill"..

the teamate stopped right in front of it......i thought " oh great, this guys has a brain in his head".....

then what does he do?...

he runs right into it.....teamkill...

then the idiot punishes me.......i scolded him, telling him he stopped and looked at it before running into it......

some ppl...

Its best to ignore those kids because overall... if your their age... your a smarter, better person...

I personally HATE the HATERS...
If I take a chopper and die, or accidently shoot a friendly... I usually apologize... (SPECIALLY If the crash was my fault !)

Then some punks scream out Freaking Fa**et or Ga* n00b using their impressive l33t talk...

I wish the parents would see those kids getting angry for no reason and pull the damn plug off their computers...

My point is... A game is a game... its something to relax... to enjoy or change your stressed out ideas after a long day at work (to me at least)

Its unfortunate that people are unable to be civil and polite... specially when the others will apologize for their stupidity or accident

Agreed... Games is for fun...

If I get TK'ed in some elaberate way (i.e. friendly helicopter pilot losses control and lands on me while I am trying to cap a flag) I am normally laughing my socks off as I forgive the TK...

If it is my fault (hit a mine, run out in front of a speeding vehicle) or an accident ("friendly" grenade, jet fly-by, etc) I will forgive...

Funny thing on Delaen Plant Saturday night. I was AT equiped with the shotgun and playing US. We had only one flag on the land and where getting a kicking while trying to hold it. Very tense and exciting, enemies around every corner. Well I run around a corner and into some troops. BOOM and I have TK'ed a guy... Ooops... I quickly apologise and note that he is a medic so I grab his kit and revive him too... Just as he comes back to life I see "you have been punished for a team kill"... Lovely...

I rarely use claymores anymore as they are practically useless given the large number of retardiots on BF2. I really don't understand what is the point of purposely walking over a friendly mine everytime you find one and punishing for it, especially if the minelayer has a high score. Although I must admit, there are times where snipers put claymores in really stupid places. Especially on ladders to buildings that I want to get on. In these cases I always blow the mine with a GL or just climb up, detonate, and punish because the guy was a dumb tard for denying me access in the first place. It always happens in friendly CP's too.

But bitvomit it can be difficult to protect your rear on a building if your sniping
and the best way is to place a claymore on the top near the ladder... if the
skull symbol comes up while your climbing then be careful

that's why I mentioned the friendly CP thing. This always happens to me when I wanna climb up a building that our team controls. Really, snipers should be using their eyes and ears to watch their rear on friendly CP's, not claymores. Another thing I forgot to mention is that you don't see the skull icon pop up until you are already at the top of the ladder. Atleast on mashtuur city anyway. For some reason it doesn't do this on other maps.

The only place I use claymores is at the top a a ladder. It's for my own protection so I don't get knifed. Recently, I was playing Sharqi and placed 2 claymores on different levels of the construction crane where I was sniping. About 10 min into the map, a guy (who was on my team) came up the ladder and was TK'd. He then punished me and I typed in "WTF couldn't you see it?" No response... He then climbed back up and was TK'd by the other... Another punish... Dude then comes back up and I knocked him off with my M24. I don't condone team killing, but If you going to punish me twice on purpose for being a dumbass I'm at least going to get punished for one I deserve...

Just want to add that it wasn't a noob either... I always forgive new players while they are learning the game..
