    Totally agreed on the point that sniper rifles should not be generally a 1-shot-kill. That would a) remove the need for precision aiming, i.e. to the head, which is incidentally already 1-shot-kill, and b) result in multitudes of snipers base-raping, spawn raping - you name it, they'll rape it. This would not be good for over all gameplay.

    Let's leave the sniper class as a skilled class. The improvement being made to accuracy should alleviate most people's complaints with sniping in general.

      Yeah... hey, what is it with these complaint threads these days about... Medics needing AT missiles, Snipers having capability to destroy vehicles... it's getting a bit silly eh?

        Yeah, but this is already a problem with the assault-class. Don't need no expert aim to kill someone in one "shot" (grenade of course...).

        M95 = Powerful

        I'm a bit split in this subject, I want the sniper 1s1k, but I also don't :// I would also like thr GL removed.

          75 Yards...Body Armor, look for your self, 75 YARDS!

          Headshots=One Shot.

          Armor=Well, why not just go for the headshot.

            7.62x54r is not a .50 BMG :)

                Whats that? Just like the real one?
                An overwieght weapon that's only real advantage is it's ability to take out light vehicles?
                That isn't anywhere near as good as most standard 7.62 Sniper rifles in the role of taking out people?

                Bring on the L96 (AWP).

                  The .50 will go through a bulletproof-vest. No doubt in my mind.

                  The new and improved game version should be great. It was the lack of accuracy which stumped most of us using the M95. The power of the gun, is more than okay. If it would be a 1 shot 1 kill to the body with people wearing body armour, it would probably spoil the gameplay abit too much. Now, with increased accuarcy and thinner lines will be happy and skill comes into play. As with how things are now, luck comes into play.

                  Cheers

                    It's done with the SVD, not the M95 :P

Other than that- people will see too much of a benefit because of this imbalance and there will be a crazy influx of people using sniper kits with M95 unlock, soon enough we're going to see a huuuuuuuge spawn-camping, base-camping, generally-sniper problem (you've seen the many threads here already regarding all those things... we don't need more justification for people to complain :P).

                      Also, yes... the M95 on BF2:Modern Combat is a 1 shot killer. But did you fail to mention it is XBOX? Where the mouse is more of a precision device than those d-pad/joysticks - it would not be wise to turn PC BF2 M95s into 1 shot kill weapons.
                      Don't know why I chose your statement to quote, nothing personal mind you it just fits the bill.

                      On that note, the M24 (don't care much for the M95, but it's the same) is a one shot, one kill weapon. I made 16 headshot kills at Sharqi the other night. Problem most fo the time is internet related I am almost certain, latency, ping, whatever, but I was having a decent round, and almost every shot was dead on, and they were dropping from one to the head. I prefer the M24 because the crosshairs let you put the round directly in the middle of their head from a distance, the M95s are too big for accurate distance shooting.

                        Yeah.. I'd really like the game of "milking a medic" that this would allow for.

                        if u noobtube or C4 someone the body flies away and chances are you can't kill him the same way again if a medic instantly revives him. But imagine sniping someone from over 100 and then shooting the poor bastard over and over again when he is revived coz it wouldnt mattere where you hit him.

                        I wouldn't like to see any instakill weapons added to the game :/

                          You wouldn't really be able to do that with the time it takes to chamber a round, maybe once then they're hip to you and get up and run.

                            If the m95 gets thinner crosshairs, increased zoom, and the accuracy of the m24 I don't see the point in another unlock really. I mean what's the new gun going to come with, a silencer? Maybe a 12oz new york strip and a lap dance?

                              LOL! i am aware that our camel riding friends are not using a .50, *giggle*

                              I was posting links to the vids so people could see that even a 75 yard shot, (close as hell), to the chest didnt even kill a guy. Everyone expects thier victims to fall from one shot in BF2, it just doesnt happen that way, unless, its a head shot.

                              Cool .50 videos, so beefy, yum. too bad i cant find the videos i saw before of USMC snipers, like 5 of them, on a roof, just wasting a building with insurgents, its was very good.
