Hi guys,
in case you havnt realised, i'm a sniper. But one thing that really annoys me is the fact your defenceless againt any kind of vehicle attack. Who thinks there should be a small area of every vehicle, perhaps the petrol tank area, where if you shoot it twice or once or something, the vehicle explodes?

Tankdriver statement after this suggestion has been implemented:

Please, snipers don't take out tanks, beeeeecaaaaauseee their snipers! Do you think snipers IRL takes out tanks? No, they don't

All right calm down. I was only suggesting something to give snipers a chance for when they come face to face with a tank. If your defending a flag whilst hiding, and a enemy tank comes along, what can you do? NOTHING

Point being, this is a reeal stupid point. Call in for artillery, get someone to spawn on you, whatever. There's only 3 kits that can take out a tank, SF, AT and Eng, while Eng doesn't really stand a good chance so it's not like it's unfair.

No.. Snipers do not take out tanks becaus that's AT's job.
It's the part of the rock, paper, scissor, balance of the game..

If we give snipers AT weapon, why not give it to medics too?

Let's say you'r an engineer and there's a sniper shooting at you.. you know where he is but you can't shoot him becaus he's too far away.. well why not give the engineer a revolver with a scope on it so he can take out people far away.. And while we're at changing classes, why not change every class to give them defibrillator.. It's really annoying when someone shoots your squadleader and nobody is around to revive him..

It's becaus they aren't supposed to.. Snipers deal with Infantry far away.. AT's deal with tanks.. If a sniper meets an tank at a flag, then the sniper has three options: Die, Hide or Flee.. Assaulting the tank is included in the dying option.

Lob some nades at it, preferably on the far side so he turns to face that way and you can run where he isn't looking.

Jump on top of the turret... he can't hit you there.

My favorite..... let your team know he's there and look for any softies on the MG or supporting him and hit them. Takes awhile for a single tank to cap a flag and hopefully you can get some air support to take out the sitting duck.

If your really that worried about coming face-to-face with a tank just do what i do.

If i'm capturing a flag and a tank or apc roles up, hop on top of it. Guys in the game can jump about 6 feet in the air from standing so its easily done. If the tank has a guy in the machine gun, take him out then throw grenades below you.

Doing this will do no damage but may convince the driver than an AT or TOW is being fired at him and drive off.

Might not work for you but it does for me.

P.S. if another vehicle comes up when your on the tank, prone. No way will they shoot at you (much) for fear of the tank driver getting ****ed off and blowing them up!

I guess snipers should actually carry all kits (AT, medic, all grenades, unlimited ammo, etc). Plus AA shoulder-mounted missiles and a pocket 120mm howitzer (if spelling is right :)).

your suggestion is stupid and it wont happen. Snipers in real life do not take out tanks and this game is aimed somehow at realism so eh yea

i agree that it would be dumb to have snipers take out tanks but i think they should have flash bangs, they wouldnt stand that much of taking out a tank but i have taken out a few tanks just flashbanging them near the water or over little hills you dont get the kill but they go away, also it woudl work flashing a tank capping a flag nobody stays in the same place when flashed he would go away and come back when the flash is gone but by then artillary comes.

Assault : defenseless vs Tanks/APC
Sniper : defenseless vs Tanks/APC

but yeah , lets make the sniper having something vs tanks and APC.. RIGHT ON

If the shot is available to snipers then everyone can take the shot to blow up the tank. A support class could just open fire on the tank and blow it up at a few shots. Pretty dumb in my opinion.
