what's is this good for ? making circles .. and , that gives u .. .more chance to survive? lol

The only reason for doing such small circles is being hard to hit and be ready to go in any direction instantly when repairing. The first video shows a circle that I can use to destroy tanks.

As far as me going all over the place I blame it on the 25FPS I get when using FRAPS.

Yeah, I can do that move but nowhere near as well as you've described trepid doing it, and not in any useful way. It's more of my novelty move to see what's happening during my flag cap but even then, if you're doing it right, you can't see much beyond 45 degrees...

Yeah... I think I'm doing what you're describing. I recorded the demo and zipped up the bf2 demo files but now I need a temporary upload area for you to download it. Any suggestions?

This move can be done using joystick but a nice addition is using the multiviews mapped to your joystick thumb hat so that u can shift between views as u rotate around the pivot axis. This gives u pretty much a full view of the area and in flyby u can easily see behind u etc for additional infantry/vehicles approaching.

With practice and a variable throttle joystick u will be able to find the maximum angle u can keep as u rotate and then from there its a matter of increasing/decreasing the throttle in conjunction with the angle u're chopper is in to keep a stable altitude. The centrifugal force of your rotation will keep the chopper steady and the side tilt of the chopper in the direction u want to rotate in is there nonetheless, however small it may be. In this case it is so little that it may look like the chopper is not tilted to the side at all. This all takes practice to synchronize and do in a controlled manner but it is possible to do nonetheless. The key is finding the sweetspot in the chopper nose angle, sidewardtilt and throttle control to keep u and the pivot point u require.

i disagree... i was the gunner when the pilot was doing this over at MEC's main base in Gulf... he was just doing it over their base and none of people in MEC could get into any of the jets, tank, or chopper... obviously, this move also makes any missles impossible to hit you.. just too godlike if u can master this move..

You misunderstand me: assuming I personally do it correctly (which has yet to be determined, I still need to upload my zip file to a temporary storage site), I have yet to use it in any good way. In other words, I haven't personally done it enough to find uses for it... but this in no way means others can't do good with that technique.

that's it bro... Only thing is trepid keeps his turning a little bit tighter and he doesnt lose quite that much altitude.... but yep that's it.

Yeah, funny thing: I accidentally discovered how to do it while capturing the recording. I'll experiment a little more, post my findings here and add the technique to our Secrets of Battlefield guide. It's not as difficult as it looks...

Its actually quite easy. Lets say you want to do it turning clockwise, you would hit w + d and move your mouse downward and to the left in a fast sweeping motion. Make sure you start out with your nose tilted down somewhat.

There's a lot of anticipation and constant adjustment necessary to pull it off correctly: essentially, Velocity03 has it right. It's just a matter of keeping things under control and you're good to go...

i've been practicing it for about an hour now... it's gotten a lot better... i reduced my radius by half and increase the missle accuracy by far while circling.. i guess there isn't so much to it... one thing i realized is that the use the initial momentum is pretty important.. thx for the demonstrations guys.. i will try to post a vid of it when i master it!

Any time I try to get a more nose-down attitude, i get into some kind of spiral dive and the VSI hits rock bottom.

LOL! I just found out that technique while playing on Gulf of Oman today. You hardly lose altitude while doing the spin. It's crazy.

I use a keyboard so it was relatively easy.

BTW, what did you use to record yourself?
