I think it depends on which version of Alcohol/Daemon Tools you use. I know when I made my image I got the recommended three errors. I have also pointed this tutorial to a few people I know and they got the same result you did, no errors and had to stop it.

I do remember seeing somewhere that for Alcohol at least (may have even been the release notes) that that sort of thing had been fixed (the errors when making images that is).

How do you run the mini image? I made the image and mounted it through daemon tools, double clicked on autorun and then it popped up and then nothing happened after that. btw I used Alcohol 52%.

EDIT: I read somewhere else that you shouldnt be able to see the contents of the disc and that when you double click on the mini image it should automatically load it. I tried 3 more times and everytime it doesnt run when i click on the image and instead it shows all the contents of the disc

once you load the image into DT you shouldnt have to click on it at all, just use your normal bf2 shortcut in your start/all programs menu

wtf ?!?!? what a waste of my time !!! i mounted the image and did everything like he said.....when i click on my bf2 shortcut it just says "please make sure ur disc is inserted and restart this application" why does it do that? can any1 help? plz?

I have signed up for this forum just to find this out:
How can you hide %120 and Daemon tools from being blacklisted? I bought this game "Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption" and installed and got the emulation error even though I didn't have anything running. Please please tell me how to solve this. I would really hate to uninstall those programs so if their is any other way please tell me, or else I blew $40.

I don't know about Alchohol 120 but with DT usually changing the driver name from the default when you install it will hide it. What version of DT do you have? The v3 series (final version was 3.47) lets you change the driver names manually on install; I believe v4 does it automatically. I haven't had any problems using 3.47 so far so I haven't tried v4 yet. If that doesn't take care of it I would check other forums like gamecopyworld.

So do I have to uninstall 120% and only use Daemon? I have Daemon 4.08HE, should I un-install and get the older version? Or could I just delete all reverences to both from the registry so that the game doesn't know I have them?

I tried un-installing 120% and Daemon tools and my stuff from slysoft, then I ran the game. Same ----ing error. Restarted and tried again, no luck. I thought somebody said un-installing would work?

Do you have any other CD-related software installed? Nero, for example, also has an emulator program which could cause problems. You might also need to manually clean up any leftover registry entries from these programs after they're uninstalled. Did you look at the link Scinto posted?

Yup, that program does the same thing as YASU and besides I didn't have any virtual drives active.
How would I clean the Registry?

I'd just run regedit and look for any leftover references to the programs you've uninstalled. Be very careful if you've never used regedit before; it makes changes immediately rather than when the program closes and you can very easily do serious damage to your system by deleting the wrong things. If you're running Windows XP you should probably always create a system restore point before touching the registry.

The only way I know of is for the disk emulators to hide themselves (by using random driver names and registry entries, etc.). Sometimes a newer version of the emulator will bypass blacklisting by older games.
