            Great film, nicely done. Would you mind if I uploaded it to Google Video so there's a live stream for those who don't want to download it? (Took me over a half hour to download with a 15mbps downstream)

                Khalid's Suprise

                this is not my video, but was posted on gamearena forums by a fellow aussie called JohnnyJJ. http://www.gamearena.com.au/pc/games...tpost#lastpost
                anyway i thought it was brilliant and deserves to be seen by a larger audience.

                sorry if this has been posted but i did do a search

                here is a quote from the read me which comes with the download...
                "Finally, the greatest feeling for anyone who creates something
                — especially when it’s intended for the enjoyment of others — is to receive feedback and to learn the thoughts of those kind enough
                to view your work. I value everyone’s opinion, so please don’t hesitate to send me an e-mail.

                  Re: Khalid's Suprise

                  DarkShot, 'twas very, very kind of you to create this thread and your doing so put a big smile on my face. I hope no-one criticises you for it because it was thoughtful and well-intentioned. Only within the past few days has TotalBF2 allowed for movies to be initially posted in the General forum, which is why, I'm guessing, your search did not yield results.

                  Anyway, yes, there is a thread for "Khalid's Surprise" in the main forum, so I'll send a PM to the admins and ask them to merge the two.

                  Again, it was an exceedingly kind gesture! Thanks, man ...

                      Ooh, okay! Gotcha ...

                      (Notice my seemless editing of the post?)

                      I'm actually just about to go see "Munich," DarkShot, so I'll have to compile, encode and upload the BH surfing footage when I return from the cinema. Just check the GA thread later this evening!

                      In the meantime, here's a very brief Jihad Jeep run (6MB), also recorded on Operation Clean Sweep (the exact same day, I believe):

                      http://files.filefront.com/Jihad_Jee.../fileinfo.html

                      Not exactly sophisticated editing or capturing but hopefully you'll enjoy it anyway!

                          Re: [BF2 MOVIE/Parody/Sketch ] "Khalid's Surprise"

                          best one ive seen in ages, i loved it. the camera changes/angles are spot on. direction is top notch and i could have been watching an iraqi taking a nap it would have been filmed right. visually this cannot get much better mainly because the graphics were maxed out and it was very smooth but small discrepensies ruined a few shots like the close up of the iraqi's face over the water u can see the water through his chin. but these things are noones fault but the gameengine itself, but that is why being a director of machinima is hard because it is our job to cover these tiny things up to make the final sequence flawless.
                          and as for the story/plot something is lacking to give it more depth but it was a great suprise at the end. please keep up the great work and if you need help with writing more machinima in future let me know.

                          so final score...
                          direction = 10/10
                          visuals = 9/10
                          story = 7/10
                          overall = 8.5/10

                              Re: [BF2 MOVIE/Parody/Sketch ] "Khalid's Surprise"

                              Thank-you, Ed, and everyone else who has expressed their thoughts and opinions so far.

                              A lot of people have asked about my specs (many bewildered as to why I'd opt to use Fraps), so to anyone else interested in that kind of thing:

                              CPU: AM64 X2 3800+ (Dual Core)
                              Video Card: Albatron GeForce 7800GTX
                              Memory: Corsair TWINX 2048MB DDR, XMS3200

                              To be honest, I was amazed by how it all performed during the making of this movie. There were times when I was recording (and I never experienced any slow-downs) despite also having Premiere Pro open, music playing in the background, multiple webpages and even a number of Word documents open.

                              Almost worth the credit card debt ...
