Hi, everyone!

This is a BF2 movie I completed last weekend and although it's my first, it's one that I hope you'll enjoy. If you do have both the time and inclination to check it out, I'd really like to hear your impressions.

(Oh, but please don't give anything away within this thread. I'm very keen for people to see it without knowing in advance what happens. Thanks!)

Was the footage from BF recorder? I always wonder how do you get those camera angles that people put in movies. And how did you make the "it" (trying not to spoil the surprise) go in the water?

Thanks for the replies, folks! I was really quite nervous about posting the link because I'm completely new to machinima and wasn't sure what people would think.

[FM]Master_Chief, yes, all the footage / shots were sourced from bf2demo files created by setting up a local server, recording all the engine events required, and using a secondary PC whenever needed.

As for the question of 'how,' well, I noticed when I first started playing around with the BF Recorder that when a demo comes to an end, if you simply press one of the keys used to determine its speed, the demo will continue to play but as an extrapolation of the last moments of actual footage. So, for example, if your bf2demo ends with a jet flying in a certain trajectory, pressing '2' once the demo has ended will see the same jet continuing along the same trajectory. The usual 'rules' don't quite apply, though, so if you were heading toward a mountain, the jet would collide with the mountain but not explode. Anyway, when I came up with the idea for the climax, it took all of 2 seconds to realise how it could be done, so I got straight to work.

Ahhhh, so it's pretty much the same as when a round ends and you see planes falling and rolling on the ground. Cool you were able to use it in that way, cause seeing it at the end of a round always kills the last drop of realism left in this game for me ;p

HEY! Very well done. You have Talent and skill. I hope you make another movie that is more serious. If that was your first movie im shocked. You know what your doing, it made my laugh. I make movies myself but have not made a BF2 one yet. I will as soon as i get the Battlerecorder working right. That is my only problem right now. Keep up the good work.
What did you use to make the movie by the way? I use Fraps+Sony Vegas.

John-Paul that was by far one of the best bf2 movies I have ever seen. The overall creativity, camera angles, and scene structure were superb. Loved the jaws music. The greatest part is the very end. Did you use Adobe Premiere our something cause it looks like you added a motion blur. Nice graphics card too.
