I also once saw "laser guided Bomb" in the Kill-message

Another possibility would be the barbed wire fence.. like iif u shoot someone and he dies just when he jumps onto a barbed wire fence that might show up

Thats new to me too. The one I cant figure out is "RIB", what is that? I often get the message that just sayes "killed", DUHHH. The funniest message Ive seen was in "Halo". The normal message was like "You were killed by someone pistol". When the mod guys started bringing in the Halo2 maps It would say "you were killed because you s(_)ck". I laughed for days over that. . . . .Red

Nope its not from the F-15, I told you I was flying the cobra. Nobody will ever guess what it is, I'm still not 100% sure what it is myself having watched the BR footage several times.

Its not however:
Zip wire
Garotted using piano wire
AGM-65 "Maverick" on the F15 (Co-pilots weapon)
modified localisation file ( shows up as [MAVERICK WIRE] in BR)
HKS dropped mines or a claymore, and an enemy hit them while he was using the TV guided missile. Thus, he got credit for killing with whatever he happened to be using. We've seen this before with other things, like the guns on the MiG.

RIB - is short for Rubber Inflatable Boat BTW

I'd like to see what you think HicRic because I watched it quite a few times now.

What happens is I blow an APC with the cobra, then you see me dogfighting an enemy cobra. That guy picklebarrela55 goes and tries to fix a blown up APC after a while he works out he can't, :laugh: then the APC blows and it either kills him or he gets blown sides into those concrete pipes that are tied up and he dies on them. I still can't work out exactly how it happened or why its called MAVERICK WIRE.

Well its not the localization file.
Its the weird bf2 routine of determining what killed you.

As we all know, all actual weapon names are in the game files, like coxial-mg, 250lbs Bomb, mk81 bomb, M134 etc.

Now one way to trigger those "real weapon kill msgs" is when you are out of the vehicle that fired the weapon.
Easiest way is, open a Cleansweep game (dunno if it has to do with lag, but i think it should work in singleplayer too, if not, get a friend to join your server)

Take the bomber, then drop bombs on the enemy, but bail out immediatly, so at the time of the kill your are no longer in the plane (so youll propably bomb yourself too) the kill message wont say [Su-34] but [250lbs/Bomb] (or something)

same applies to every weapon in the game (for the fast moving projectiles its of course hard to reproduce), i even managed to kill someone with blaVULCANbla from the F-35B (kill came after bailing out)

Yeah but I was in the cobra the whole time, didn't die and didn't bail out. When he dies, I'm actually in the middle of a dog fight with an enemy cobra. Its not from the tv guided as I didn't fire it and didn't have a co-pilot. I'm still scratching my head over this.

When I get around to it, I'll upload the BR for you guys to check it for yourselves.

Now that should be an sf weapon in game for when you sneak up on someone .I know weve got knifes but that would be well better .

I've grabbed the two BR files from the Kubra rounds (not sure which one it happened on) but I've got a bunch of lectures now, I'll have a good look in a few hours.

How about this F-15 co pilot fires his lazer guided missile while cobra was firing his, at the same time there was a guy In Mid sky that was parashuting So both TV guided missiles Hit this guy at the same time ( Like big Orgy) so he got crisend with the name Maverick Wire. Yea thats it Thats what Happend, Fook knows what it is I just did a serch and there is no Weapon In Europe Or Russian Militery. Any one has Pic Pls post Up Im intrested to know what it is my self. :-)

Close Boris but no cigar.

I have solved it and actually am able to reproduce it. Quite by luck actually we worked out a lot more than just this series of events that lead to him being killed by MAVERICK WIRE.

OK the MAVERICK WIRE is the laser guided missile from the F15. Now old matey must of got slightly damage by it but not killed. It was a separate event and he was damaged before I even shot the BTR-90. Then I blew the BTR-90 he happened to be standing close enough but not too close to have it say the BTR-90 killed him. When the BTR-90 finally exploded he was at just the right distance away from it to register as being killed by the MAVERICK WIRE.



Anyone care to guess how this death occured? Another weapon found HYDRA 70

Wow Thank you for clearing that up as for 2end kill i was guessing it was a drumm. I know u can kill people with smoke thats my fav... Thanx again for doin tests and Givin us This info back :-)
