The F-16 is multirole, sure, but its primary roles are CAP (combat air patrol) and SEAD (suppression of enemy air defense), which the F-117 has taken over (mostly).
Are u kidding me? No way, the F-16 could definetly beat the F-14, but that's 40 years old, the F-18 and the F-16 are almost equal, both are mutirole, and reletively cheap. But the F-15 would destroy a F-16. THe F_16 may be smaler, but just cause it's smaller doesn't mean it's more manuverable, take teh F-5 Tiger II for example, that thing is tiny compared to modern jets, but yet it's way less manuverable than the F-15. If u wanna talk about the F-15 then ya, i guess u could say a F-16 B60 is better, but that's because the F-15E is a multirole, while the F-16 Block 60 is mainly a fighter. Just because jets are heavy doesn't mean they are unmanuverable, one of the largest fighter jets, the SU-27, can do a cobra manuver (even though that has no positive effect in combat, it just shows it's manuverability). And also, the F-22A, it's pretty much the size of teh F-15, but it's WAY more manuverable, it is unrivaled in manuverability against any jet IN PRODUCTION ATM (cause planes like the SU-37 terminator, which is not in production, could out manuver the F-22A).

i reinstalled because sometimtes i would fly straight behind a guy, he wouldnt drop flares or manuever at all, and with a positive lock id shoot 6 missiles and only 1 would hit. the others go right up to his tail and deliberately miss

Yep, prob does if the enemy ur getting is trying to shoot down one of ur teamates, that's exactly why i hate the missiles, why don't they just improve the AA, and make the air to air missiles actually hit their targets, then dogfights in the air would be better, AND there would be less plane whores.

How does the J-10 compare to the F-18 in game?

It's faster, and it's more manuverable, the F-18 IMO is equal to the Mig-29, and all of them are better than the JSF, the JSF balances out cause it can avoid noobs on takeoff.

I'm not kidding :) I'm a big fan of the F-16. NAd yes, i was refering to the block 60's.

I think the SU-27 maneuver you are refering to is Tupolev's Cobra, (IThink that's what it is called) where the plane virtually hovers with a huge angle of attack. You are right, virtually no combat usefulness, but impressive nonetheless. Last I heard, the SU-35/37s were the only ones that could do this, but I may be misinformed.

The big advantages of the F-15 is its twin engines which provide more thrust and power than the single engine General Electric of the F-16. The F-15 has a higher top speed and service cieling, but it isn't as maneuverable close in. The F-16s corner velocity is much better than the F-15.

Hint: "the maneuverability" is not defined. You can´t get a real number describing maneuverability. There are hundreds of parameters that go into maneuverability, and it´s very unlikely that a jet beats another one in all of them. The F-16 for example has a higher sustained turn rate than the F-15, but the F-15 probably reaches a certain height faster. Both are measures of maneuverability. Dogfighting is basically a matter of using a jet´s strengths while preventing the enemy to exploit it´s weaknesses (and having a better energy state, yadda yadda).

F18 gets raped by J10, F35 better than Mig.

i think j 10 is the best ots fast and good hadeling the f 35 is slow and turns very slowly so flying under briges and around trees is very difficult the j 10 is the best in monuvers but the f 35 is stronger armour
