DICE have clearly stated that they will not implement supply lines in the coming up patches or packs. This is from the latest DICE interview with TotalBF2:

We've heard a lot about the Supply Lines game mode, can we expect this soon?

At this point in time, there is no plan to add it. During the development process of BF2, “supply lines” was not felt to be that strong a game mode. However, the basic idea may spawn a better idea in the future.

I like to see a Death Match game type. Has to be pure infantry fighting though.

First of all, please lets not make 1 word or 1 sentence flametory comments.

Second of all, back to the topic, DC mod has implemented Capture The Flag, i.e. CTF, game mode. They even released a minimod back in december to show the community their progress. I was one of the first people to join their server to test it and i have played it for hours in the first a few days it was released. However, after a week or so, once people found another cheap tactic, it was no more fun for me and for many others. What they do is, they C4 the flag, and they camp around the flag. Imagine 30-35 MEC (or USMC for that matter) soldiers, camping in a 50 meter square area all with Anti tanks or C4s. There is no possible way to even approach the flag. It's a very nice idea, however, as some people are meant to use cheap tactics, it really got boring after a few days.

I also tried PRMM's game mode as well. It is nice if you play with 8 people, like 4 v 4, but if you play with more people, like 10 v 10, or 15 v 15, it's so darn hard to proceed man. It's like a lot longer version of counter strike basically:) Not that i have any regrets, its a great mod, actually imho, it's the best BF2 mod out there.

People will always find cheap tactics to ruin a game. As long as EA supports the game and makes some tweaks now and then to limit cheap tactics it works out well. This next patch takes care of a lot of cheap tactics, so although I understand what you're saying about CTF and cheap tactics, it doesn't support a reason to not have this gamemode. Fans of Desert Combat CTF I think would agree those were some of the best games that were played. As far as "camping" a flag, that happened in the original game as well with CTF, didn't bother me, was able to always at some point take out the camper, and it just made me a better player. This is no different I may add than camping a flag and not capping it in conquest.

It sounds like you're just not a fan of CTF, I for one, am completely tired, and bored of "merry go round" conquest mode. To each his own.
