I’m surprised how many people on here are always bashing not only EA/Dice but any game company that tries to make a profit from its games. These companies have every right to sell you a booster pack for any amount of money they choose. Instead of the $29.99 they chose to sell it at $10.00 and you people should be thanking them for that decision. If you had ANY idea of how many millions it costs to make an AAA title you would think twice before complaining about costs. In the future you WILL be paying for regular maintenance patches for many of these games that do not have monthly fees. You don’t have any right to free content in fact you don’t even have a right to a bug free game. If you don’t like the way EA/Dice do business don’t buy there products and look elsewhere for your games. There is nothing wrong with the word profit & I'm glad EA is making lots of money so they can keep making great games.

About topic, I think you are right, the only thing I would wich from EA/DICE is some more support and faster patches .

about the booster packs, offcourse they are asking money for it, perfectly normal and 10$ , who cares man, my underware costs even more

3 maps, something like 3-5 new toys kit wise, 3-5 new big toys, seems like 1/3rd of the SF mod err x-pack at 1/3rd the price.

Overall the feeling of many people is something like you are now paying for what you could get yesterday for free. And i agree with anyone who feels that way which is why i don't do well supported mmos ((or well just mmos in general) or pay to play in stuff like BF2C.
Basicaly i don't pay for what i've already got for free.

Thats not the point, at least for me.

I dont care I think its great value, even if I was only getting a few new guns. Just the problem is we get ****ed off when things that need to be fixed cant be because EA are most likely kicking all their asses to keep pushing out new content.

We cant even go elsewhere EA own most of the damn market. And nobody said BF2 is ****.

You do have a point, it is there right to charge as much as they want and when they want, but it doesnt mean people can't complain about it. People have always complained and its never going to stop, its like a human instinct, but good point none the less.

I've said it in other threads, the $10 isn't that big a deal.

What annoys people is when they are adding this content to a game that isn't working properly to begin with. It's getting there, but I would like to see the time spent fixing the game and then they can pad their pockets. If the game works and is a huge hit, people will buy the boosters, expansions, add-ons ... whatever they wish to call them.

I agree with your point about EA owning a HUGE portion of the gaming market. But still many folks (Not including you) think that they should get all there patches, expansions and booster packs for free "Because we already paid for the game".

Yea I completely agree with you. EA makes money off the products they put out. If they gave us free content over and over again they would lose loads of money perhaps go out of business. I full support them and I am definantly buying both booster packs. Plus you don't have to buy EA products no one is making you.

It's a fact that they are still advertising items not included with the game and are still not available. Finish the game and then I'll think about buying stuff.

I tend to agree but am in 2 minds about this. Being a BF'er from way back and getting content for free was a plus whenever you bought BF games. Take BFV and its patch 1.2 where they added extra content for free, new maps, vehicles.

However a companies main goal is to maximise their profits for their shareholders and this situation couldn't last forever. $10 is a reasonable price for extra content though it would have been a good PR excercise to release it for free especially since the game is still full of bugs which a lot aren't happy about. It would have then made a lot of people happy hence good PR to release some extra content in a patch for free to at least try and smooth it over with their unhappy customers.

For the sake of them making $10 for each sale of the booster packs and a lot of people seeing that as being money grubbing greed, is it really worth it? In fact would they have got a lot more sales if people knew that new content would be released for free?

Free content is now a thing of the past and it seems the last free content we got relating to BF2 was wake island which left a lot to be desired when compared to the original.

My only concern is not whether or not they charge for it. Its whether or not I will be buying something yet again riddled with bugs and the track record so far is very poor to say the least.

But you need to understand that EA is releasing a patch for the bugs. That is the free content is the fact that they were nice enough to release a patch for free. Trust me in the near future patches will not be so free.

Look it's perfectly normal they ask money for the booster packs, if you go to the store and you buy a nice steak , you will have to pay extra for extra sauce with it , offcourse you can make the sause yourself, but will it taste so good ?? (probably depending on who making it)

Profit is good, nice attempt at constructing an arguement to trap people. I've nothing wrong with profit as long it's done within reasonable means. Refuting your arguement isn't going to do any good, as you people refuse to reason, but here's some articles for all you people to read on sales figures and EA's earnings (or...losses. how about that , but you do have Windows XP running on your computer, that is a car where the weels, engine, seats, ... are options and if has more bugs and leaks in it then a dam bug screen
