    Hmm, an actual fix for BF2 might have to download and install these.

          I was wondering the same thing.

          Because this is the first I heard of it. Unless he's a tester or talking about Catalyst in general.

                FREAKIN' YAY!

                Somebody with AIW X800XT, OR VANILLA X800XT PLEASE POST YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THESE DRIVERS!!!

                Many thanks to widkidone for posting the info.

                Edited:

                Downloaded and installed these drivers. 3dmark05 went from 5204 to 5338 (not sure if that is enough of a difference to attribute to the new drivers, but always better to see score go up versus down).

                Played vBF2. Ran fine; no differences noticed. Played SF and OMFGLOLICANEFFINSEEINTHEDARKNOW! NOOBS b3 w4rn3d.

                err, ahem, where was I? Oh yeah, the drivers installed great. I had issues with the .NET framework before. If you are having trouble, advise you uninstall the .net software from add/remove programs and then reinstall. DO NOT RECOMMEND .net 2.0 Think it was glitching hard.

                I don't usually post specs, but since I asked you all to tell me about your experiences with the drivers, I might as well reciprocate.

                Relevant specs are:
                p4 3.0 prescott;
                1gb (2x512) single channel 400mhz generic ram in an
                ASUS P4S-800MX;
                AIW x800xt AGP (yes, I realize most everyone else is an NVIDIA FanBoy--now I want you to record video to your hard drive, do TiVO, time-shift an FM broadcast, edit the video of your brother's birthday party, and THEN play BF2 with acceptable eyecandy and excellent framerates for ~$200 on YOUR dual SLI BFGeeTHAT'SEXPENSIVE 79000000txESgtoPE. Then you are welcome to tell me all about how my ATI card "s0x LOL U HW NOOB". Oops. That turned into a rant. Rant over. I know I'm preaching to the ATI choir.)

                Thanks again for the info.

                      I have passed up the last two releases. Might download this driver. It's hard to do when what you have now is working fine.

                        I have the AGP AIW X800 XT... I'm installing the drivers now. I'll edit this post after testing.

                        Here's my baseline:

                        Shuttle SN41G2 nforce2 chipset
                        AMD Athlon XP 2500+
                        1GB ram (PC2700, 2,2,2,5)
                        Soundblaster X-Fi

                        1280x1024, 2x AA, 8x AF
                        Vanilla setup - all settings on Medium except geometry which is high ~ 45-70 FPS
                        SF setup - (no dynamic lights, dynamic shadows at low) ~ 30-50 FPS

                        The blooming in night mode was horrible. I couldn't play night maps because of it. BBIAB.. Done installing.

                          Jono, my friend, did you uninstall the previous drivers. Just go to this link: http://www.3dacc.net/page.php?al=alias8166

                          install/uninstall any ATI drivers.

                          * Step1: Goto your control panel and uninstall the ATI drivers and ATI Control Panel, if your using modified Drivers, then uninstall those as well.
                          * Step2: Download Driver Cleaner 1.3
                          * Step3: Reboot into safe mode, (hint: press f8 right before windows starts loading, hit it multiple times and choose "Safe Mode when it shows)
                          * Step4: If u have modified drivers that include its OWN driver cleaner, use that FIRST, THEN use driver cleaner and clean all the drivers u don't need.
                          * Step5: Use CAB Cleaner (in driver cleaner menu)
                          * Step6: Remove files from recycle bin if their are any
                          * Step7: Restart into windows and install your new drivers. Press cancel to any requests to install drivers for your video card, install them from the downloaded Executable file.
                          * Step8: Reboot.

                              Just installed it and I'm getting horrible fps compared tot he 5.13 Extreme. The game stutters alot and when I got into a Jet, I seemed to instantly crash and then the view changed to me crashing so I skipped taking off, Hard to explain. Anyway, I also encountered a walking problem on my screen, sometimes it will go all fuzzy and act as if your pressing ctrl a lot, but your aren't left me stuck until someone killed me. I get worse fps during the start of the round than usual. For all I can say, I'm rolling back. Woo yay for system restore.
                              They were my results from the Cat 6.1's NOT OMEGA's. Still waiting for someone to test them.
