Ive just installed these drivers and they do honestly work i can actually playnight maps now . Before everytime i got near a street light everything became blured basicaly night maps were unplayable i was constanly switching between nightvision and normal vision and constantly getting killed because of this . Thanks to the guy that started this thread i would of proberly not found these drivers for months if it werent for your post again thank you

EDIT: specs incase you want them to compare.

Pentium 4 3.2GHz 2Mb cache 64bit technology with XL heat pipe and wisper quiet running.

320Gb S-ATA 7200 WD hard drive with 8Mb cache

1024Mb DDR400 64 bit dual ch mem

ATI Rad X740 XL PCI Express Grapics 128Mb with TV out, scart,DVI, VGA, S vid etc.

(sorry i just had to copy & paste couldnt find the specs on the mobo)

I installed the drivers last night hoping to see a performance increase as I did with the 5.12. I was wrong. After installing the 5.12 I noticed a smoother game play, but the blooming with the night vision got to me. So I rolled back to the 5.10 omegas. When these drivers came out I was hoping to see that same performace gain, but alas, nothing. It made MY computer run like poo-on-a-stick. This is only my experience.

I will wait for the omegas

With the 6.1 drivers the night vision seems to work properly but instead I seem to miss the shadows from map objects and buildings (lightmap?).

I downloaded it bt my ping was like over 400 on 2 different servers that i usually go on..i tried twice on each server...... never happened b4 is this just random or to do with the new drivers?

Video drivers will not give you a higher ping. Period.

You probably joined a server hosted on Pluto.

Ah yes, i've been checking the ATi website every single day for these new drivers.

I'll install them on my computer later.

I have gave up my other computer with the X800XT Platinum in it for this computer with a P4 Prescott 2mb L2 cache and X600. Now i can run on Medium with full AA. No more high detail for me x_X

It was worth the swap though. Cpu is amazing.

I'll get back with my oppinion on the new drivers.

I have a 3500+ Venice core, 2x1GB OCZ RAM (2-3-2-5), and an ATi X850XT AGP. These 6.1 drivers are SWEET!!! My game runs so sweet in SF (Never tested Vanilla BF2, only SF). I was orginally using 5.11 (Cuz for me 5.12, and 5.13 ran like crap!). Night vision is fix (as they promised) and my overall frame rate improved, especially the night maps!! Day maps used to run way better than the night maps, but now they're equally good!! I DEFINITELY recommend these drivers to ATi users!!!!

I'm back with my update.

I've just tested these 6.1 drivers. They TOTALLY RULE!!!

Now i can actually run IRON GATOR at highest detail with 6xAA. No slowdown.

I have a 9800. After downloading the drivers I noticed shadows on all the tanks horrible. I pulled out C4 and you can see through it. Should have left the drivers alone.

I have only been able to use 5.10 on my 9800 Pro, since all the other drivers up until this one crash to the desktop on launch. Have not had any problems with 5.10 so it doesn't bother me, but installed these ones and I can actually start up the game. I played for an hour or two last night and didn't notice any lag or glictches.
I just hope they are still maybe doing minor updates for 9800 Pro's, maybe they are since none of those other drivers worked until this one.

I got the drivers. Theres no noticable performance increase or decrease but it did get rid of the nightvision ghosting. (Saphire X850XT)

ok this is ridiculous.

I uninstalled the old drivers. and used driver cleaner 1.3 to remove all the remaining related files. and installed the new ATi driver. my media player and real one stopped working.

WMP doesnt play any files anymore, including DivX movies, wmv, or even MP3. real one stopped playing videos too, but it still can play MP3. Winamp still can play MP3, i dont know if it can play videos since i didnt install the video support.

I'm not sure if its cuz of the driver itself or the driver cleaner. i suspect the driver cleaner, i had never used it before, although i had it installed. never trust those free third party programs.
