thats the view i have of BF2. i really think Ea and Dice did a great job with this game. i do admit there are some bugs that plague the game but not enough to hinder the fun factor for me( most of it i think is on the user end). i mean where else can u parachute from a plane and land almost 3 feet from and enemy tank and blow it to high hell with your c4. also i think most of the complaints are unjustified b/c someone just wants to wine and moan and others complaints are justified. but all in all i think EA and Dice have done a great job with this game. a steady stream of patches and expansion packs keep me coming back for more. i would have wrote more but i know how some of u guys here hate to read lol

nice to not here a whiner for once. I too love the game despite it's faults. I also find the fact that about a million people still play it and love it then a few thousand come to websites like this and post negative comments, see other negative comments and then somehow think THEY are right all the time.
Well done for not getting sucked in to the self reinforcing delusion of self importance that most people on this forum seem to have. -

I agree. I just started playing last month and I have not even purchased the SF yet. I planned on it, but now the boosters are comming out and now I will probbally get that. The play is awesome, just the guys waiting to kill you when you spawn is a drag. But overal, they are fixing the bugs and adding new maps to the game. That shows me they care about their product/players/revenues.Comment

If you want new maps, play on unranked servers. I play in the 21cw mod/tournament, and we have new map/maps every week. This week we are using 5 new maps, very cool.Comment

Sometimes a friend of mine and myself will find a high spot in a map and just sit and watch people play, and enjoy the atmos..
The roar of jets flying by, the thwip of rotor blades, the tink of richoceting gunfire...and the whiz of shrapnel.

As much as I love BF2 and Battlefield in general, BF2 isn't quite GOTY material yet, as some people claim it to be. (Many people consider, with good reason, RE4 to be GOTY.) In a sense, BF2 is still working towards being a complete game.

I know I have been converted.
I never found intrest in FPS or online gaming....But I tried BF2 a few months ago, and I am hooked.
I got my first copy from pirates (Torrents arg!) I liked the single player ok. But somehow I got online with the ****** and played for about an hour. After that I was addicted.
I went right out and bought the game. Even did substancial upgrades to play it with the full effect.
My system was nice.
But went out and bought :
Speakers
Gaming keyboard and mouse
Video Card
and a new monitor.
Thanks for all the guys that make the game fun too.

I'm in agreement with what you are saying. I love the game, and I somewhat agree with the complaints about the air-force being dominant, but the people seem surprised at this. It's the way war is supposed to be, air superiority.
I'll also agree with the complaints that it can get to be too much, but I find that if I am getting bombed and attacked to no end, I don't bother with the jets/helis, and I join or create a squad to take/capture points. The opposite team normally steals our air vehicles, but we will most likely win the map and get top scores, and in the end, that is the most important.
Just remember, most of those "awesome" pilots can't see you if you aren't in a vehicle. Get from point A to point B in a vehicle, jump out, cover on foot, and hide in non-obvious places so that when the bombing run comes to you, you will probably survive, and they will need to re-supply.
Once again, in agreement that this game rocks, most of the original bugs have been fixed, the rest is more-so people that can't cope with excellent pilots/ground troops. If it's not the jets or helicopters, it's the grenade launcher or bunny hopping. I agree, I hate them too, but I cope and take care of them, especially with having the ability to create and join squads. Play as a team, win as a team. Simple.

EDIT: Listen to your surroundings to. If you get done capturing a spot, and you hear the artilerry firing, you have a good chance of getting raped by the blast, so once you hear those cannons fire, do yourself a favor and run away for approx. 30secs, and come back to recapture after the barrage.Comment

The bombers and heli used to bother me until I took action with the AA. I found a way to finally shoot those heli down and recieve two kills. The jets, I pester by justing locking on them and I may shoot twice and duck and hide for a while if they come back. I'm gald the pack is suppose to fix the AA, becasue it sure if fun getting a double kill or even a quaduaple kill.Comment
