In some recent sniper guides, one of the primary tips is to move to another spot after you shoot so the enemy cannot get a bead on you. The idea is to shoot then move, shoot then move, etc...In the REAL WORLD this is probably the best and only method for a sniper to employ. In BF2 it is not.
There are simply not enough good hiding places with a good field of vision to constantly be on the move. Yes, you might be able to move a few feet to the left or to the right, but to completely change a hiding spot every few shots or so is far too time consuming, inefficient. Don't get me wrong, if you are covering a flag and your team caps it, then by all means move to where the action is.
Even if the enemy finds you and kills you a few times, you will have gotten more kills staying in one spot then you would have otherwise. I would rather have 5 deaths and 15 kills than 0 deaths and 5 kills anyday. So camp away, stay alert and don't be too worried about dying if you are being productive.
