Re: Kicked for being too good in Moongamers server?
Hovering with a jet is one of the easiest way to get yourself killed in any server with an opponent smarter than bots.
If you let them kill you with a hovering jet, and hes not dead within 30sec, the team getting raped deserves it, they might just as well run around with a pistol and shoot at the sky.Comment

Re: Kicked for being too good in Moongamers server?
Chris Redfield, I didn't post the proof in my post because the ROE has already been posted for all to see and didn't see that it was necessary to do so again are you telling me it is necessary to back up my claims or opinion when the document has been posted many times and is in black and white for all to see?
It states examples of some rules that private ranked servers can use.
So basically I also wasn't going to comment about moongamers, their rules admining policies because I don't know them and haven't sampled them for myself and quite frankly its their server, their rules and I wouldn't for a moment tell them what they are doing is not right. Its not my place to tell someone who pays for a ranked server what they should do with it.
There are basically 3 documents that a private ranked server must agree and abide with, the EULA, TOS, ROE all these are publically available for anyone to read. I'm not going to quote certain sections as they have already been posted.
A: Private ranked servers are allowed to have rules (examples in the ROE) as long as those rules abide by the EULA, ranked server TOS and ROE.
B: private ranked servers are allowed to kick and or ban people if a server rules is broken, no where does it state in any of these documents that they can't.
C: If you don't like a server's rules why complain about it? Why break the rules and then complain if you get kicked or banned? Where does it get you? There are 1000's of servers out there and plenty of them to cater for everyone's enjoyment.
If colony had done the same thing on our server for 5 rounds without sharing the plane he would have been warned for vehicle whoring. Especially if others complained about it and would like to have a go themselves a player can't hog a vehicle for so long without sharing as that breaks the rule against people having equal access to all vehicles if they choose to use one. 5 rounds flying is excessive to say the least. If nobody complained about him hogging the jet then there is no problem.
The fact remains it can be classified as disruptive gameplay for excessive use of a vehicle when others want to have a turn at usingit.
As far as I can tell this thread has had its day.Comment

There is no such thing as jet-whoring, I've flown for maybe 30 minutes, and hate it when I get bombed and bombed and bombed, but you can't whore a jet. I always thought it was first come, first serve basis, if he gets a plane shouldn't he be able to fly it? If he flies that plane does he have to purposly crash to give one of the other ten people waiting for the plane a try? It doesn't make senseComment

You are absolutely right. But someone better start changing their rules, whether it is the ROE or Moomgamers I dont care, but someone but start changing rules and clarifying this.Originally posted by nickbuddy111There is no such thing as jet-whoring, I've flown for maybe 30 minutes, and hate it when I get bombed and bombed and bombed, but you can't whore a jet. Re: Kicked for being too good in Moongamers server?
I think people have been perfectly clear for you at MG. You do not whore a jet, you do let other people use it. Noone opposed to you for your remarkable result of keeping the jet airbourne for the whole round. But for 5 rounds? Thats 5 rounds of time when other people have had zero chance of flying that jet. You were thinking about yourself, MG thought about others. You were banned, you came here showing your "awesome" achievement. And now that youve lied and went official just to get back at MG, youre no longer invited there as I checked.
You dont need a clarification because it has been clear for you since day one. You need a clear sign if you "won" or "lost". Which brings me back to the issue that youre a stunning personification of ignorance. Im also not the first one to think that this thread has been a selfpromotion since post 1.

If I am banned from their server for filing a complaint to BF2RS and on their forums, then that is probably against the EULA/ROE/TOS as well. I'll check and look into it, thanks for the heads up. :)Originally posted by Chris_RedfieldI think people have been perfectly clear for you at MG. You still think its self promotion, that's nice. But I dont care, it is a game and I score alot. If people want to like that fine. But most hate those that are better than them which is why I always seem to get trouble following me. People are haters on those with skill, its a fact. Not everyone liked Michael Jordan. Why? because he was a murderer? No, because he probably beat their favorite team in the finals, that's why.Comment

Michael Jordan didnt run around yelling "I OWN!!!" look at my score!
Dont be a smartass, you know perfectly fine that "not invited" doesnt mean "banned" but hey, if you chose to lie about thr rounds, how far can you get is just your imagination. If I am banned from their server for filing a complaint to BF2RS and on their forums, then that is probably against the EULA/ROE/TOS as well. Re: Kicked for being too good in Moongamers server?
Please, tell me what "not invited" means. I have not broken any rules on their server as of late, so if I am banned then that means I am banned unfairly and unjustly.Originally posted by Chris_RedfieldMichael Jordan didnt run around yelling "I OWN!!!" look at my score!

Moongamers has some nice admins that will actually try to talk to you and explain stuff to you like spike, then there are the ones like Lin who go around insulting and "uninviting" me from their forums etc., and for what? Being against one of their rules which I believe go against the ROE global ranked server rules which is supposed to override any rules deemed unappropriate? Or does he hate me just for being a good pilot which people do?Comment

Re: Kicked for being too good in Moongamers server?
I finally managed to sit down and it's almost 11 PM...I'm off the clock but about to embark on another session of reading and responding. I see you busy bees have added a few more pages to this thread! I won't read all before I reply because I like to use my own reasoning to reply to each point and not be influenced by other people's. I can't stay quiet when there are some skewed viewpoints being tossed around like they're gospel, so here it goes, please bear with me.
That's the beauty of our set of rules. It is surprising how the other (supposedly defeated) team can hold their own and even make a comeback that makes the game more interesting for both sides when you are allowed to attack the uncappables but only with arty and infantry. Even then, the USMC may have a bit tougher time making a comeback, but I have seen it happen. It does prolong the game a bit, but it also allows the team to go down fighting and with some sense of worth and honour, instead of being pounded into oblivion by spawn rapers. Only a coward likes to keep wailing on a guy that is already down. It doesn't take skill or say much about that guy's values.Originally posted by BoojieI find it difficult to imagine that all the flags of the enemy will be captured in 1-2 minutes and that the rest of the game will consist of dealing with maranello's scenario . It's more likely that this scenario will come about in the "end game" and nothing will change the outcome.
Like I said...not necessarily.Originally posted by BoojieThe enemy will still lose.
[QUOTE=Boojie]Maranello's scenario simply calls for ending the game quicker (ie. "let's end this thing now, you guys messed up...let's move onto the next game...hopefully, you've learned what not to do.")[QUOTE]
Tell you what. When the demo came out several servers modded some game options and MGs followed suit to remain competitive with the popular servers. It didn't last, of course, because EA cracked down on it and those that wished to remain ranked, like us, quickly went back to the standards set out by EA. Since then I have read several messages in forums of people who speak fondly of those ultra long rounds with over a 1000 tickets. Does that sound like people enjoy quick rounds or like they enjoy playing the game more?
You may be right some of the time, but many times that does not correspond to what actually happens. Many factors go into it, but I have seen remarkable comebacks that end with a result of 1-0 tickets! Now, that is cool!Originally posted by BoojieThe spirit of the game that the MG Admins are trying to project is admirable. I like it. But it won't change the outcome of that specific round. So we can witness a long, slow, boring defeat. Or we can put an end to that poorly planned campaign and start anew.
I'll give you another example of a similar tactic used outside the game. I love billiards. For a while I played about 3 hours almost every day. I got to be pretty good. I could win in several ways, but a quick win didn't bring me any pleasure because I did it for the company and the social side of it too. If an opponent sunk the 8 ball too early in a round I would just pull it, place it against the bottom bank and give him a 1 ball penalty (pull one from the pocket). The scenery is as cool as the destination and I enjoy every part of the trip, if you see what I am saying. At Moongamers a lot of people share a similar way of looking at these games. That is why we have a community and not a clan.
Unfortunately a lot of people seem to see that perspective but he chooses not to. He is bright, that is why I think that he chooses not to see.Originally posted by BoojieMeanwhile, colony is sill clueless at what the MG Admins are trying to do. Whether or not MG is violating EA's rules, I dont know. It seems like MG Admins are thinking about a lot of people, and colony is thinking of himself.
Thanks for keeping an open mind and for appreciating what we are trying to do at Moongamers. I also am enjoying this debate and the good arguments that other people have brought forward.
....Next! :)Comment
