Re: Kicked for being too good in Moongamers server?

here we go again, the same old stuff.

Ranked server admins, may NOT kick players because of their rules such as "vehicle whoring, spawn camping" and so on. they sign a contract with EA when they get that server, and that contract clearly states that every human being will have a right to play in that server in any way they want to as long as it's not against the EULA. They can't stat pad, or hack, or teamkill, as these things are against the EULA. However, everyone can do whatever they want to do. You want to get in a plane and keep bombing their main base, you can do that, you have a right to do that, and you should do that. They kicked you? they banned you? Go to BF2 ranked servers' website, file a complain, and see if there is going to be any server left if they keep up their "vehicle whoring" rules in a few days.

Final words, NO you can not rule the server just because you own the server. That's a ranked server, that's different, there is a different contract involved. If it was an unranked, public server, you could do whatever you want to do. But as much as as the server admin you can't just lock down the server and stat padd with your friends, you also can not kick people just because their way of playing the game is against yours and you can't take it.

Some servers just kick for being too good.

they do that? fine, what good does it do to people when they come here and complain? You are unhappy? you have 2 two choices.

        1. If you have legitimate proof that you were kicked for reasons such as:

        a. Being too good
        b. being a vehilce whore
        c. bunnyhopping
        d. dolphin diving
        e. noob tube

go to bf2 ranked servers web site, file a complain.

        2. Find a different server.

the third option, which is to come here and whine will create more flame wars, more disrespectful posts, more unsolveable debates, more unconstructive threads (shall i go on?).

I deleted my MoonGamers bookmark 'cause of nonsense like this. Some of the worst admins I've ever seen.

That is totally incorrect. We are allowed to have certain rules and we are allowed to enforce them. By going into a ranked server you agree to not only abide by the EULA but you also agree to the servers own rules. As long as the rules are not against the EULA/ ranked server TOS you can have the no vehicle whoring rule and you can kick/ban for it if it is broken.

There are limitations of course for example putting restrictions on the game like knife only. These were deemed to be stat padding. However rules like not attacking uncaps until last flag is allowed and can be kicked for if the rule is broken.

These are "private" servers not public servers! The people who pay for these servers can have rules and are allowed to enforce them. The people who play on private ranked servers are guests of said server and if a server has a rule or rules they are allowed to kick if they are broken.

I think maybe you should ask someone like IndianScout from bf2rankedservers about this as he made a post about ROE and examples of some of the rules that are allowed.

The fact remains if you play on a "private ranked server" and they have rules and you break them, expect to get kicked or banned and if you don't like it people should stop whinging about it and go and play on an Official EA Ranked server which has no rules which is a "public ranked server"

The last time i checked www.bf2rankedservers.com, there wasn't that 3rd part in ROE where server admins *could* do this and that. But let me tell you this, i have been playing BF2 since the day it was released and i have never ever been kicked or banned from a private server, public server, clan server, for any of that reason. BUT, if that was the case, if i was some plane freak, and they would ban me for dropping bombs on the aircraft carrier or stuff like that, i would go to the law center the next day (we get free advice and usually free lawyers at school) and i would bring a lawsuit and i guarantee you, you would be amazed how that would change in less than a month. That is so unfair and that is so nonsense. You have a game, and there are main rules for that game, no hacking, no stat padding, no teamkilling, other than that, you can not limit the way people play the game or you can not make it in a ranked server. Because ranked server is something that affects people's stats. You would really be suprised if you knew how many lawyers out there who make a living out of these "wording games" and this is not one of those "oh i bought BF2, i am unsatisfied, the game is buggy, i will sue EA" situations, this is the invasion of rights, equality and more and more.

But at the end, i don't care. I have never been kicked for those reasons. In fact i have never been kicked or banned for any reason except that 3 teamkill=kick/ban thing. So it really doesn't bother me.

Give this man a gold star, this is accurate. Maranello's claim is not, although it is a widely believed urban legend so don't kick him for repeating it. Where I understand this misbelief comes from is the part of the EULA that is actually addressing having a ranked server totally passworded; this IS against the EULA because they want every player to be able to play in that ranked server. It would be all too easy to password a server and stat pad, and EA knows this.

Maranella, the only way you will be able to prove your claim is to post the official EA EULA and show me where it says that in black and white.

And its also really not to find something that IS against POE. Most clan servers either have different ticket ratios, or friendly fire off, OR, more commonly, they don't have autobalance or many other required settings turned on.

This thread has turned from an immature "I'm too sexy for..." claim into a seriously informative discussion on what the rules are for a ranked server. Keep it going, please.

I don't know who to believe. HKS has a lot of credibility, but maranello makes a strong case as well.

I m not claiming anything or proving anything, i have said this over and over again "I don't care, it doesn' bother me, because i was never in that situation", however its not ethical, it's the same thing as slaying people over and over again CSS for awping in the game. If this stuff was meant to be optional then there would be a "vehicle whoring, bunnyhopping, being a noob" switch where you could turn this on and off. The game designers never meant all this to happen. They neither designed the game so their game could have restrictions on it, nor they intended on making something that people can exploit.

And dont make me sound like a vehicle whore who is defending other guys. I hate being bombed by the planes, i hate dying when i spawn in USS Essex in gulf of oman by a Mig bomber, i hate that Mi-28 attack chopper in sharqi to came over TV station and keep spawn camp and get 25 kills in a minute. I m not defending them. I am just saying, we live in a democracy, there is freedom of speech, you just can not limit what people can do as long as they don't break the law.

EDIT: and if you DO limit people, sooner or later, you will be ALONE in this planet, meaning your server will be empty. Nothing is eternal don't forget my friend We depend on each other, we live in a society, we don't rule the world.

Re: Kicked for being too good in Moongamers server?

Well, first of all, i knew i locked the topic before, but something really funny happened and i wanted to share with the rest of the forum.

I was playing gulf of oman in some server, it was really nice, 64 player map but only 13 people or smth, anyways, our team was owning the opposing team so more than half of the other team left and the game eventually stopped since there wasn't enough players to start the game.

So, i am looking for another server, and what do i see, this "moooon gamers", i wasn't gonna play in their server, but i said "give it a try".

The second i am in the game, i see BUNCH of chat messages by admins

"YOU ARE NOT MEANT TO ARTILLARY THE CARRIER!!!!"
                          and another one
"XXXX don't destroy the UAV or i ll KICK YOU"

Anyways, i get in the MEC team and there is of course autobalance and USMC is loosing like hell. They don't have bases left, in fact, they don't have 1 single soldier on the beach. I look at the score, and everyone i see having a 40-50+ score (usually top 5) getting kicked one after another.

I get in the chopper, i make sure that there is no one on the beach, i basically checked every single base, i couldn't see 1 enemy. So i start flying towards the carrier, BAM! this admin guy who has been complaining and threathening people rams into me and calls me a "noob!" like i could do something, i m in a chopper, he is in F-35B.

So i respawn, what do i see? the Mig, waiting there for me and i m like "how the hell the mig is there when there are 60 people in the server" (i figure this out later of course), i get in the mig, again i search for an enemy, i shot down 2 planes, 1 chopper before they can make it to the beach then i go to carrier.

I see like 20-30 people running around like little cats trying to escape from the artillary, the APC, the boat's machine gun, the choppers, and then BAM! i drop 2 of my bombs (have only 2 anyways lol), i get like 9 kills!!! lol! A second after, i see BANNING!!!! [TBF2] Maranello....

I don't really understand, was i supposed to sit on the beach, turn on my radio, read my newspaper, eat my chips and wait for US Marines to come kick my a$$? Jesus christ, what is MEC team supposed to do? What kind of undermining, childish, stupid logic is this?

I also read the server rules

Dont whore the equipment, don't whore the commander assets (so you can't artillery the same base 3-4 times i guess), don't TK (normally), don't base rape with vehicles in anykind.

I understand all this (even though i disagree 111%), but what about when there is no flags left? How about destroying the commander assets?

I was about to take a screenshot of all this, but it was too quick and i got banned in less than 5 minutes so i couldn't. And this is DEFINETLY against the BF2 Ranked Server ROE and i will formally complain about this in everyway i can. All the ranked server logs are kept in the server, and i will have BF2RS people pull them up and read them and they can see how they are exteremly violating ROE, this is so unacceptable.

They should make an age limit for owning ranked servers and that shouldn't be under 25.

                          my 2 cents...

                          Regards,

                          Maranello

I know of one provider in Australia, who ban people who attack uncappables.

Almost every server I visit has set their own rules, like "no basecamping" or "no abusive language", "we may kick to make room for clanmembers" and what not..
so these servers should all be closed cause EA hasn't said anything about those rules ??
