I question the wisdom of people who constantly spam bags on/around the flags. Not because of padding or saving 'em, but because of the tactical situation involved.

Think about it. People respawn at the flag. They come in with full health and ammo. What good are the bags gonna do them? Further, who's the most likely person to come running to that flag while wounded or short on ammo? If you said "de bad guys", you get a cookie.

Chuckin stuff around the flag while not underfire just doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Unless you're one of those bleeding heart types who believes in care and compassion for the enemy.
        :p

BTW, this is something I've been taking advantage of for awhile. I love them bag spammers. Makes taking their flags SO much eaiser!

It's called thinking ahead two tiers.
I spam medkits at a flag, commander informs that heavy enemy convoy comes in, our guys move out behind cover, the enemies capture, assume all peaceful and go away, we move back in, enemy spawns, we shoot him, we need to patch up, medkits are there.
Extra useful when your medic is killed in the firefight with the newly spawned guys and you need to heal before you can get to revive him.
Also extra useful when trying to defend alone against an incoming hostile force, lone AT / engineers can always use extra ammo and health, even if there's no supply guy/ medic nearby and no crate is dropping.

I am honestly amazed that I have gotten such a harsh response in this thread. I admit I am not a BF2 god. I don't play all the kits. I don't know how everything in the game works. I am not one of the BF2 elite. I am just a guy who did not know something and asked a question. I learn things all the time about the game from these forums. Now that I understand how those two kits work, then it does not seem as odd to me that people spam the kits. I had no idea they reloaded. Honestly I think that’s stupid. Go ahead and flame me though it’s cool. I’ll remember it the next time one of you says something stupid.

As far as my name goes, just to make the point, the clan I am in has a naming convention in place. If you go to our server, you will notice all the <|BuxB|> guys have female actress’s names. It's just a thing.

So you're operating under the assumption that not one of the enemies will use those bags in the fire fight you have just engaged in while they are standing next to the flag knee deep in health? Maybe it's just me, but it sure seems like you just gave them enough EXTRA health to beat you in the firefight. I doubt they will stand next to the bags you spammed at the flag and use none of them so that when it's all said and done, you can come use them. They must have your name on the side right? They were reserved for your team after the firefight right?

You proved my point. You simply didn't know. I dont know who you are, but on this thread you asked a simple question in a nonconfrontational way. The gimp corrected me on a false assumption on mines, so this thread was useful. You learned something too. But some immature geezer thought he was being cool, so he must be put in his place.

I didn't say it's not useful in some cirumstances... I was mearly pointing out a hole in most people's tactical logic. Those people being the unthinking masses out there.

I'm not kidding when I say I've been using this to my advantage. These days it seems like there's always a health bag waiting to heal my woes when I'm taking enemy flags.

                        Re: Stat Padding Definition

I "spam" medic/supply bags in points on the way to flags rather than AT flags, unless i'm capping with other guys in which case I either put down no more bags than is necessary, or preferably just hold the bag to top people up. Having said that, complaining about people chucking the bags everywhere indicates that you arn't realising that at least 50% of BF2 players arn't the hardcore "thinkers" who realise the tactical implications of medic/supply bags at your own flags.

                          Agreed.

Think you're a little off on your figure tho. I suspect that less than 30% of BF2 players *think*.

Depends on where you play, of cource.

That was an off the cuff figure, and I didn't want to come over as a tw*t.

I probably play on the 'net's most retarded servers, any suggestions via PM GREATLY apprectiated!

The thing is, you don't spawn "at" the flag. You spawn some distance from it. If the enemy is "at" the flag, then they have the adavantage of having health kits laying next to them. Unless you catch them off guard, they can heal and continue fighting. It just doesnt make sense to me.

They usually don't stand next to them. They usually seek cover. I've had maybe 3 instances in total of a hostile even getting to pick up one of my packs before they got killed, opposed to countless opportunities where those medkits helped my co-combatants achieve the task at hand, because they could instantly replenish their health after killing the first wave of hostiles.
Maybe I always just luck out.
