    Re: Where should BF3 go?

I, for one, am excited about a Battlefield game focusing on the obscure but exciting Monkeys vs Wombats war of 1933.

How about the Afghan/Soviet war in the 1980's. That would be fantastic.
Another couple of good one would be:
      Northern Ireland
      Falklands
      Desert Storm
      Panama/Beruit
      Iran/Iraq war
      Kosovo/Yuogslavia/Bosnia
      Belgian Congo
      Contra/Sandnista
Korean War (name a Korean War FPS)
All of the small African Wars of the 60-80s
Somolia (done right, not like the Novalogic abortion)
      USA/Afghanistan
      or a future conflict:
      USA/N Korea
      USA/Iran
      USA/Syria
USA/Random brown-skinned nation we have yet to "liberate in the name of Democracy (Democracy is ancient English for "OIL")

If it were WW2 again I'd laugh. BF3 needs to take place like 2015 or later.

well i still aint voted yet.
but enemy territory quake wars looks a good mix between modern and futuristic war fare.
if you like them kinda things.
i will get that game just to try it out(is it me ?but enemy territory quake wars looks like bf2 <--players-->and the gfx look the same but a bit inhanced.
mmm..me thinks etquakewars is bf2 engine juiced up.we will see.

i prefer modern combat personaly,if you like ww2 i think forgottonhope2 mod for bf2 will be good and its probaly free.

full city size sounds ok but i disagree with console handling 256ppl online(maybe in 10 years time if a good console comes out)in order for the game to work on all cpu/consoles we would have to have the best gfx the worst console could handle thus making it a port(ports suck i play pes5 and it looks stupid cus its a exact copy of the ps2)

the best thing for consoles it to keep um away from pc players cus we would so own them with there silly pad movment(whilst standing still moving the analog to look, the last thing they would hear is a bullit hitting them followed by a promt respawn time :)

realism is the key to a good teamwork game,me thinks :0
id like to see modern weapons with realistic pain level.
1.you get shot u bleed slowly untill patched if u dont make it in time at least u carryed on fighting to the end.
2.destructable maps would make great for exposing stuff but also great for hiding ect.or trap set ups.
as the map goes on you base get worse hence more defending needed and more sratagies will need to be applyed for attacking.

i like bf2 but sometimes it feels to point orientated ppl ut grab armor and go for a flag dont even bother to c if any one wants a lift.
if a bf3 is realistic this woulnt be a good idea.

I think ww2 has been beaten to death, there were other wars in the world people lol. I think there should be the theoretical world war 3. Allies=US, EU, Australia. Axis=Iran, China, NK. Artillery would be nuclear weaponry :P

and of course, featuring the F-22A.

                BF-Apocolypse... Fallout Style

Imagine fighing in bombed out cities, desolate planes, rusting wastelands, etc...
Jimmy-rigged scout cars with welded steel plates for armor, beat up old tanks, and noisy old piston-engine aircraft. The weapons would remain primarily current projectile weapons and the style of play would not need to be changed too much, but there would be total creative freedom in weapons used, vehicles, locations, etc.

I think the addition of naval combat is a bad idea unless the number of players supported in a map is drastically increased. Bigger maps are not really needed either, as it takes long enough to get around the current ones unless you are in a fast vehicle. A few wide open maps would be nice, but i think the apocolypse lends itself better to closer, more intense combat.

Battling in a crumbling, bombed out New York (or other large city), a mountainous wasteland, a dilapidated bunker (Vault), and makeshift outposts and fortresses would be great.

And of course, improve the variety of the equipment, classes, vehicles, maps, and most importantly, the game modes!

Come on... you know it sounds sexy.

I'd also like to see some purely latin-american war.
Doesn't have to be a real conflict, Peru vs Bolivia vs Guyana for all I care. I would just find the mix of scenarios interesting, from choppers in the mountains to infantry in the jungles or city battles between large villas and slums, with guerilla factions and totally random arsenal of modern and older weapons.

                      Re: Where should BF3 go?

il like to see weapons tuning for each player.
each player can chose deafult set up for (sniperriffle)for example.
adjust sight to compensate for you ping(if possible)
but the ability to customise you waepon to youre prefernce like geting a silence upgrade that you put on but maybe lose a bit of distance.
chosing a decent hand gun like a desert eagle .50 instead of a silence potato gun.
                      selection of camoflage(unlockable maybe)
the weather idea is a great one make a huge diffence to game play some ppl could be better in rain ect,and driving in rain powersliding youre jeep in to every corner would be fun.<-- oh and poped tyers on cars get some speed wobble on the go :0

                          Re: Where should BF3 go?

                          ooooo..... model customization :)
Being able to make changes to certain parts of the model, like have 3 or 4 different helmet models to choose from, like a straight helmet, one with goggles on top, on with a pack of cigs... etc, a few different utility belts, different jackets... probably mostly camo type and logos and whatnot rather than actual different models for jacket, but you get the idea.

Have several different models or skins for each mod-able item or location for each class. Some could overlap for some classes, like helmets and camo types, but other items would be class specific to the point that you could still distinguise classes visually and you couldnt make a sniper look like a support class.

This kind of customization is always fun for the player, but would add a bit more work for modelers and skiners, but I dont see it as being a big problem to implement, aside from the extra effort to make the content.

Maybe a fullscale online campaign (like in WW2Online) in modern warfare isn't too far fetched.. After all, BF has moved a bit towards MMORPG with official ranking system. But with EA running it, it might end up being technically a total disaster :)

Most of all, I think I would like to see an American Civilwar BF with modern equipment, urban envinroment and with a littlebit of postapocalyptic gloom.

                              Re: Where should BF3 go?

the last thing anyone needs is ANOTHER WW2 game, even if it's a good one. Call of Duty 2, Brother's in Arms, and Medal of Honor to name a few, and those are just the good ones...not to mention the original BF did that, so it would be a weird flashback.

But going into space is just too far-fetched. The realism that they strive to create would be lost.

They don't want to make another vietnam, that game built a lot of enemies and they don't want to revisit the same place and try to fix it, that will just be surreal like WW2.

That leaves modern, which is really the best option, because even though they've already made it modern, they could just make a new conflict. Maybe 5-10 years in the future? Only slightly more advanced weapons, still realistic but not insane?

That seems like the most reasonable option to me.

I'm fine with WW2, but it'll be kinda hard for EA to retain the 7 kits in BF2 for this BF3, cause it's kinda hard to find LMGs from all sides that are balanced, also if the LMG goes to the support class, what gun will the assault guys get, the Garand?
