Where should BF3 go?

I belive Battlefield should return to WW2. Although Modern combat is fun i enjoyed being able to jump into a Battleship, or sub and not just reck havok on land or in the air but on the sea and under it. It would be better then COD 2 and with new next gen systems, it would be great.

It should go waaay back in time, to the 100 years war... It would have three sides, England, France and Burgundy, maps like Agincourt, Crécy, Calais, Poitiers, Harfleur and kits like archers, knights, infantrymen, engineers and squires. As for vehicles, it would have heavy(only usable by the knights) and light cavalry, siege engines and some primitive cannons. Personally, I would love it

I think WW2 is overdone, I'd go for a vietnam era game - but not vietnam.

Say its set in the middle east, countries are plenty, US/USSR/Israel/Arab Coalition. Its modern but aircraft aren't quite totally dominant yet, and theres some good troop carried AA missiles coming out. Great desert tank battles, city skirmishes, mountain passes.

Might be a bit of a touchy subject though? Who knows. I think it would rock!

should definately be modern warfare -there are too many WWII & VIETNAM shooters out there. Leave futuristic war for the likes of unreal tournament

Russia in Afghanistan 1979.
Afghan superhero with Kar98k/Enfield with bells and ribbons shooting at T-72s ("plink plink, oh, no damage :/"), Hinds and Helix transports, Mujahedeen with rpgs and old-ass rifles but much more stamina etc.

Some PLA vs local Insurgents stuff would also be nice, because of the variety of the possible chinese theatre (mountains, desert, plains, huge cities, it's all there), and it hasn't been done quite so often, and some real PLA gear-centered gameplay would be zany.

I'm very tired of WW2 scenarios, especially the western front. The only interesting WW2 things would be the russo-japanese war (Zhukov krush Japanese) or the Italians sucking themselves through Africa and Greece.

Modern combat is mostly where it's at for me, don't give tuppence about sci-fi themed bullsheet.

Great idea, I would love it too . Imagine large battles with swords and supporting archers, and heavy cavalary. But can it be real ?

well they are gonna finishe the battlefield 2 with european forces...after that for Battlefield 3 its probably not gonna be like Galactic stuff but its going to be like 2080 gunz with lazers bahh i dont know..
