I loved BF1942 and would love to see a return to World War 2, however, the idea of big capital spaceship battles where you could move into solar systems, soften up planets and then send in smaller craft with ground pounders, seems pretty damn cool too!
Why anyone would want another modern game is beyond me. That's what this one is!
i think the game needs to go back to the american civil war, or even further back to ancient rome, and the armies that fight each other all worship different gods. worshipers of Zeus could call down a thunderstorm on there enemies
they should get the C&C: red alert license and make Battlefield: Red Alert. I really want to drive around in a Mammoth tank with twin cannons .
That would actually be an absoloutly brilliant idea if they could some how combine C&C red alert 2 with batlefiled 2. We could have all the funky stuff in C&C like mamaouth tanks prisum tanks lol dogs . lol i want to be a dog and eat the enemy or see the enemy get munched on by a dog. It would make a realy novel game and with it being a hybird game with C&C the commander mode could by way more complex. I dont actually see the licence thing being a problem as EA now owns both C&C and Battlefield i dunno if it will ever happen but it would be alot of fun.
BTW therea a C&C mod coming out i dunno what sort of vehicals are going to be in it but its somthing you might want to look into i know ill deffinatly play it when its released.

I think cold war era would be a good idea. Lots of open spaces and towns all over europe to battle over, and a reasonable amount of change in weapons to the current bf2. Could even be hypothetical and involve other countires not previously involved and have like a 3rd world war circa 1980.
they shud make spinoffs like BFV, sum cud be BF KOREA , BF GULF WAR or sumthing like that, and maybe ask the ppl hu r making mods about those wars to help out 2.
Im very open on the subject. Ill play any timeline weather it's past, presnt or future. A couple of my ideas though.
1 BF42:Redux = better graphics, more weapons, veichels, SHIPS!!!, maps.
2 BF1918 = WW1 era with trenche warfare, tanks big naval battle, planes.
3 BF3000 = Future wars invading planets in space ships (think Wake as a planet) future tanks, guns and other weapons.
4 BFKorea = Mostly the same as 1942 (my fav)
5 BFRome = Swords, Achers, Cavarly, Sige-equipment.
6 BFCronulla Beach (thats for the Aussies )
No matter where EA decides to go Iam happy. Im sure they'll bring us a great game. but with lots of bugs and make us pay for boosters, patchs, and expansons...
