not sure what u mean by that ?

got plenty of ram and prosser is fine verifys me in 1min 20sec

was concernd at ur framerate being lower than mine as youre pc should be way faster than mine as you av 2gigs and 3000mhz clock cpu.
and you mention a old driver,so i recomended you get a new one,try the latest or which ever you want, but i dont think a driver will inrease you frames up from 30/40 to 60-70 as mine is currently at.and i didnt think that mine were good, but would expect an increase on my current fps if i upgraded my cpu to somthing faster, find it odd how yours in lower maybe try a whql driver and see if that help.

Alright I'll try that. Where should I install the drivers? In Safe mode?

        no try this
        1. Unplug nic card or modem from net or disconnect
        2. Remove nvidia from add/remove programs
        3. Reboot into safe mode (F8 during boot up)
        4. On reboot into safe mode WinXP SP1/SP2 will auto detect and install drivers. Just let it do its thing. If you can cancel out of the auto install hardware wizard then skip the rest and run Driver Cleaner! If you can NOT cancel out of auto detect wizard then...
        5. Navigate to device mgr->display adapters->highlight nVidia and click uninstall or remove but don't reboot
        6. Disable any AntiVirus Software (If you don't disable is than it could give trouble)
        7. Run Cab Cleaner (not needed, but recommended)
        8. Run Driver Cleaner
        9. Empty recycle bin and reboot
        10. Install the new drivers

Speaking of drivers, I did a little test.

          (xg=xtreme-G drivers)
          (550/1100=clock frequencies)

          3dmarks05

          nv81.98-550/1100 |3898|
          xg-81.95v2-550/1100 |3889|
          xg-81.98v2P-550/1100 |3884|
xg-77.62v3-550/1100 |3939| *winner* older driver, better performance, hmmmm

What driver do I get? I can't figure out what to get. And do I have to install the new drivers in safe mode?

does any one here no how to do driver install ?
you cant install drivers in safe mode.
use safe mode to uninsatall the nvidia folder that is left behind
i did post the steps which are recomended.
thats not from me either its from driver clearner read me.
make sure you turn off all uneeded apps and youre firewall /antivirus as this can damage the install.
                then install the new drivers.
depending on what card some will benifit from new drivers others will not.
and if youre doing a 3dmark test on drivers do it 3 times on each one with the same test to get a curate reading.
                hope this helps.
p.s do it propely and it will work properly :)

                            what driver you guys using?

and yeah, when everything else runs smoothly for some reason piloting SF attack choppers used to be kind of strange lag (like every 3 seconds its like click).

also, has everyone here noticed that it DID seem to run smoother in 1.03? or possibly SF is just that much harder to run, when i went back to vanilla it seemed to run just as good.

and i have noticed that 81.95 and 81.98 have caused huge problems for people, especially in the 6600 GT area.

for those with uber comps like 7800 2 gigs etc, they seem to make it work better.

to me it makes sense, just like theyre making it work for the uber nerd comps and screwing the rest, i wouldnt put it past them.

also, could you test it in BF2 instead of 3dmark05? they really are completely different. that would be exceptionally annoying if they were making drivers to run 3dmark05 instead of BF2.

i got practically all high settings, except for a few mediums with 4x Anti-Aliasing - don't know my exact FPS but the only time i lag is for the first few seconds of a new round and then it works fine - even in 64 online maps.
