I'm so tired of jumping in a attack chopper as the pilot and getting a gunner who does not know how to use the tv missles. Or even better the co pilot does not hit f9 so they can get rid of the cockpit and see below us. And they also never spot for anything. I know everyone has to learn but it seems to happen so often to me.

i do every thing else , but i just cant get the hang of the tv missile!! i acosionly get a hit or 2 but i just give up and rarely gun in a chopper.

Maybe we need to get together. I fly o.k. but am a much better gunner. I SPOT all the time. My biggest concern is a driver who can't seem to hold the damn craft steady enough for me to get a shot. I realize that we are constantly being hunted and movement is required to stay alive but at times ya gotta give us a shot.

Are you talking about players who don't know how to shoot with it or suck with it...

Had gunners with both problems...

I can't snipe tv only cause i'm not sure of locations but if i can see it i can ussualy hit it

Find your target. Fire. Unclick. Re-aquire target and left click and hold on target.

If you need the pilot to hold it steady, I'm sorry, then you need more practice.
If you absolutely have have to take a target on within short range, you need to use surprise, and for that it is essential that you can hit your target dead on while the pilot is doing evasive manoeuvres.

I hate when I jump in a chopper to gun and get a uB3r1337 pilot that can't hold still for two seconds, and has no concept of gunners view, so you sit there looking at the ground two feet away and then they have the nerve to bitch you on in game chat with "y Didn't you sh0ot n00B OMFG!!!1!!!"

And yes they do at least need to hold steady for two seconds so you can see the target. Once you fire the helicopter is irrelevent, but you can't shot at what you can't see to begin with.

Thats not how the tv missle's works. You aim at your target and if its a aircraft try to lead your shot in front. But after you fire the tv missle let go of left click. Then you can continue to guide the missle buying using left click everytime you hit left clcik it will move the missle.

I don't get mad at people that arent good with it it's just the one's who don't use it all. I understand if someone is not the greatest because they may not be used to using it. I sucked with it when I first started using it but now I much better with it. You just got to be patient when you fire it, just click slowly after you fire.

Don't be sorry. I do need practice. I suppose I should have been more clear with my statement. Some of the pilots I have joined up with fly so fast through an area that it's near impossible to see the target, swith to TV and then shoot. It's a Team effort.

True. Also, communication helps.
As a pilot, I have no problem with lining up shots patiently as long as I know the gunner is aware of what he can do with the missile.
It's okay if someone tells me he can't hit targets when I'm rolling. It's also no problem if your missile didn't fire.
Just please, for the love of god TALK to the pilot, it takes away much frustration.
As a gunner, I wish pilots would move more. I hate the stationary pilots who hover at 300, never budge when a plane comes to strafe us, don't respond to my cries for ammo, but seem to have fallen asleep.
Also, the pilots who point you towards a target, then suddenly decide otherwise because they want to take out a long medic with their missiles; or point you at a tank when a nearby AA is already raging at the chopper.
It's what drives me to solo :/

Thanks for the f9 tip. I enjoy gunning and I have used the TV missiles but not knowing how to use them unitil I just read a tip on them. You want to fly sometime, join me. My xfire name is ace4u7. I have flown with some awesome pilots and have blown up tanks and other helicopters, but the next day is not the same. I am always lookin for a good pilot. I am pretting good at the ground defense, but the air attacks are awesome when you have a good pilot. The air atttack is always a great distraction for the enemy when you have a ground force charging hard.

Me and me mate Papa on Gulf of Oman.... normally hits more, but gets a few long range crackers off...and some nice flying by me, check where my crosshair is budding pilots to let the tv missile guy have a good shot.
