If you specs. are good. and you have enough ram. Then the thing that will cause a lag in load time is your hard drives. Your hard drives are taking a long time to access the information. In my case I used to have 7,200 rpm hard drive and it would take about 3 min to load a level. Then I built my new computer with 3 Raptors 10,000 rpm's set in Raid 0. This means they function together as one drive. 3 Raptors work as one super fast larger hard drive to simplify it. Now maps load in 15 secs first map after that they load in 7 secs. Lets just say I have yet been beat to load on any new map.

My HD isn't slow - it's WD SATA 7200 rpm drive.

My PSU is more than adequate - Enermax 460W with 32A on the 12v rail.

Fragementaiton is NOT the issue.

Antivirus program is NOT the issue iehter, tried it with and without - made no diff.

There are people with comptuer system much weaker than mine that load in a minute or less.

Why is mine taking 5 mins?

This is strange, my computer is slower than yours i have a P4 & GeForce 6200 1.5GB Ram, I Had zonealarm but it stopped everything.
