I think it's a great idea, it would greatly improve the gameplay of the game.

What is the point of this topic? No game will ever have this..

Kinda nice idea. But I play assault to the book. A good assault player knows no fear from death. They are ment to steam in rambo style and clear the path. Expect to die, it goes with the job.

OK...You have a valid point...but did you have to start your post with a flame?
Sorry, its just that its just that I personally think its a stupid idea, and will make the game MUCH more camper friendly. But to each his own I guess.

His name is "veng33ncleetw4hatever", he didn't get the name from nowhere. Once upon a time, he was surely flamed so bad that it's haunting him for life and he joins forums and try to get back at people ^^
hmmmm, maybe I should change my name to 1337fl4m0rg3nCe^? :p

Too extreme.. It's an interesting concept but the community would be miserable. It would indeed be more camper friendly- It's alot like communism. Sounds great in theory, but you just can't force people to do things. That said this is just a game, and you definitely shouldn't force things.

The point of this topic AND this forum is to post opinions, ideas and thoughts.
If you have nothing constructive to add the please don't post.

Are you an expert on creating games? How do you know no one could offer this kind of balance to a game?
All I'm offering if a way to give staying alive some meaning and give a consequence to dying because right now there really is none.

Says the person who plays for over 5 hrs a day with an average hourly score of about 250.
You're upset because this will obviously cramp your style of gameplay and it's totaly fine for you to feel this way about it. You just don't have to be such a smart a$$ with your posting. You showing your age.

This idea diesn't force people to do anything.
It encourages smarter gamplay tactics but it doesn't force them.

As far as the camping goes there could be other balances in place. Like a few second of invulnerability. Something else the BF community has been talking about for years.

Again, this is a concept for a future BF game and I'm comparing it to BF2 playstyle.

I think, the difference between you and I, is that I disagree that there is no punishment for dying, as you stated in your first post. The penalty is that your entire team loses a ticket, and your one step closer to losing the round. I guess its whether you look for personal glory or team glory.

I'm confused, if you can't force people, why would people be miserable? They could just continue to not camp.

Also, if you're trying to discourage camping, it would be better to simply not take tickets away due to death (like in CTF). Keeping it the way it is just makes the scoring system a less accurate representation of how good someone is at helping their team achieve victory.

Yes, and killing an enemy puts your one step closer to winning AND gives you points. A player shouldn't need to choose between getting loads of or winning. Points should represent those "steps".

That woukld have a giant effect. If you have played AA than you know what i meant because a kill was worth 10 and a death was -10. AA is very hard to get points, rather it is from my point of view because it is just a fun side game for me. But i think it would effect alot because people would be more stealthy and use good teamwork/ judgement before their movements.

That was my first thought. It would be like watching hair grow.

One of the best games I had the other night was on Wake. It was beautiful. There must have been 50 of us out there. And it was like D-Day. I could see waves of guys trying to take a hill. Both sides didn't give a damn. They were charging. Guys were dying. But more would fill their place. I'm not talking about crawling on the ground...I'm talking about full on running. You could see your ememy. And they saw us. And it was bloody.

                            And it was beautiful.

although the picture boojie paints is quite funny and sometimes in war can really happen, it is something that the game does not frown upon. running blindly into war/gunfight is rarely what happens. this might actually stop people from being rambo and losing tickets in a manner that hurts the team. Karkhand comes to mind every time. people rush right in before a commander can even get the uav up. a little more apprehension in this game might help teamplay.

Wow Brindled, Thanks for rekindling this old thread of mine.

Despite what some other;s have said, I think this would encourage less "rambo" playstyle in favor of good tactics.

Right now (other than a lost team ticket as was stated) there are very few if any penalties for getting killed.
Too many times you see people charge into a flag zone with the hope that they will take out several people "before they get killed".
How about learning tactics to take those people out without getting killed? Does that ever cross anyone's mind?
Would C4 Buggies/Jeeps be as popular if you lost that point for killing yourself?
