Now I know I must seem stupid for asking, but:

Do the kills a com gets from arty REALLY count for global kills.

I think its impossible for a number of reasons.

1: Combat score relies completely on kills made, therefore the points you earn in round as com are sometimes negligable compared to the points gained from arty kills.

2: Ingame kills from arty no longer count as points earned, thus negating factor 1

3: I have not seen my global kills gone up from arty, therefore negating not only factors 1 AND 2, but also contradicting what EA posted would be factual in 1.03 and beyond.

To me this situation is all one monumental screw up. Does EA want to reward us for arty kills, or not?

Can they make up their ****ing minds already? Please?

No. they dont. As a commander, the only kills you get are the ones you actually are responsible for, when you actually shoot someone else. Arty killes do not count.
Commander score is very simple: As your team scores, the game calculates the average and updates that as your score. Nothing you do can speed it up.

I'm not so sure - arty kills might still count.

Taking my stats as an example I have 8370 kills in total.

Total vehicle kills = 5596
Total kit kills = 2595

Combined vehicle/kit kills = 8191

8370 - 8191 = 179

Which is about what I'd estimate for my total artillery kills (~200 was my guess).

It's a similar situation for deaths too, as in I have a number of deaths that are totally unaccounted for when suicides, vehicle & kit deaths are added together.

However, for commander points the average is not a "running" average - it's calculated at the end of the round. I can be near the bottom for the entire round and as soon as it's over I shoot up when the average is calculated. Also, kills DO give you points (which are doubled) and any teamwork score earned before becoming commander is also doubled.

Last time I checked....

arty kills were counted in BFHQ but you didn't get any points for them.

It *is* a running average. This means that it counts the score of the players as the round goes on, recirding those that leave mid-round.

Kills do *not* give you any points nor do any teamwork points get doubled.

what ptegan said how ever arrty kills count for badges so lets say that i get 10 kills with arrty i would get the basic combat badge for what ever class i was playing unless you have it all ready

They count towards your medal/badges earning, I got my Veteran Engineer Combat Badge while being commander.

Yeah, that's about the only way I'll ever get my basic sniper badge :)

yep i got my engineer combat badge as a commander without killing any1 (apart from arty)

But then that means the kills are counted.. otherwise why would you get the badges?

i got my basic sniper bein commander and got the badge halfway through an arty strike.

So, just like I asked in my previous thread, All the kills u make as Commander with Arty, go towards the kit you're using at the specific time?

So, just like I asked in my previous thread, All the kills u make as Commander with Arty, go towards the kit you're using at the specific time?

I don't see why you can't test it for yourself?
