I think it may be an account thing and nothing to do with hardware, because my dads account seems to verify a lot faster than mine .

It's not a account thing, it's got everything to do with hardware and how fast your pc can verify that data.

And it always takes under a minute. Dont really know how you guys with your all powerful gaming rigs wait 5 minutes. Incredible, actually.

i have a pretty crap system (only 512 ram) and it takes me about 2-3 minutes to load up everything and verify on mostly medium settings, although it does crash to desktop and "network data corruption" quite often.

Is it a harddrive thing? Because I was told it was a processor and I haven't noticed a major improvement in speeding up. But I think it's the account because my dads account is on this computer along with mine, but his usually verifies faster . And thank you for the battlefield recorder tip thing :).

I'm really not sure.... it really varies for me. When I join an empty server, I verify within 2-6 seconds.. If i join a server with quite a few people it takes 2-4 minutes....kind of strange

How can you tell if a server is battlerecorder enabled? I played on a server that didn't have the little computer image to the left of the server name and it verified in about 15 secs. I'm not real sure on what it is now? What is it verifying?

The server is reading the files in your game folder during the verification process. Just look at your hard drive LED. I would think that the faster your hard drive is, the faster it would go. The server itself may throttle the process, though.

So how long does it take you to verify? It takes me 25 seconds with a 10,000 RPM drive.
