Ok. I have a brand new system, I built it just before Xmas. It includes these specifications:
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe (Current nForce drivers off nvidia.com)
Athlon 64 3700+ SD @ 2.2Ghz
1.52 Gb RAM Corsair XMS
XFX GeForce 7800GT 256Mb GDDR3 (81.98 Drivers)
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic (Game Mode) (Newest drivers from creative.com)
Western Digital 7200 Rpm 250 Gb Hard Drive
15' LCD Nec 1512 (I think this is my problem!!!)
Now my problem is, on most maps, there is a certain place where I could get anything from 30-50 fps. For example: Strike at Karkand: I will get anything from 30-40 fps at the intersection where you enter karkand from the USMC road, I usually get horrible FPS at the middle of the town.
This FPS is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE for my video card, and I'm tired of people telling me it is.
-I run all medium settings, AA 2x Anisotropic Filtering 2x.
-For some reason I can have AA 8x and Anisotropic Filtering 16x and see no FPS decrease......um ok?
-I haven't flashed my BIOS as I don't have a floppy drive.
-The only Mobo chipset drivers are the nForce 4 AMD drivers off of nvidia.com
-I strongly believe my FPS problem is due to my crappy 5 year old 15 inch LCD monitor. NEC 1512 15' Monitor. I have ordered a new monitor (Viewsonic 19'), and wanted to know if it would boost my FPS, I am entirely UNCONVINCED my monitor is not causing my problem, if that makes any sense.
-Also, I see people saying they can run medium settings with their 6600 GT's with no problem, and this p1sses me off. I have been trying to fix this for a week now, and am almost very close to bagging it and giving up on my computer.
Any questions?
Post here and feel free to ask anything you need to help me diagnose my problem.
Thanks!
