Basically, disabling shooting while jumping is retarded. Grenades are not launched far enough, we can't even cook 'em either. We can use C4 however the HELL we wanna. As someone once said, it's not how realistic the game is, it's how balanced it is. I fully agree with Auto-ER- but this may be a bit off-topic, they should fix how fast medi-pax and ammo bags respawn. There is a crap load of other ideas that would definitely kick butt and EA will take it the wrong way, best leaving the game as it is right now before it gets worse. The only way to cope with the throwing of things is by sprinting as we chuck 'em instead of sprint-jump-chucking.

Well, isn't killing people that are behind fences with an explosive a grenade job? Sorry guys but man, we have grenades ! Plus if you want to kill someone long distance well I guess thats why they put the rifle there :p. I don't care as long as they keep the c4 there so I can sneak up to a tank and plant 1 or 2 on its side and boom, enemy armor...down.

I think since they are going to take away the ability for us to jump and throw nades and grappling hooks I guess...they should increase the default distance it can be thrown. That way we won't lose anything by not being able to jump and still be able to get nades on those high rooftops eg. Tall building at the square on Strike at Karkand.

c4..I don't mind..but nades ...that really sucks

I think this issue is getting a lot of undeserved attention. Why aren't people going crazy about the fact that you can't fire while sprinting? Its the same idea, you're doing something that requires all of your physical exertion, and you just can't hold the gun in the right direction and pull the trigger at the same time. As for throwing things, its not a big deal. The only reason you get any increased range on anything thrown is that the jump height is ridiculous. I'd be happy to let people throw stuff while jumping if the jump height wasn't 6 feet. It allows a nasty exploit of both c4 and nade launchers, and this fix should deal with both handily.

It's not ideal, ill give you that. Stamina linked jumping would be perfect, but as the TBF2 interview shows, the devs apparently want us bunny-hopping to get out of trouble. They say that stamina-linked jumping would keep us from getting out of trouble when we most need it. To that i say, great, a new dimension to the game. Maybe then the people who keep thier cool in battle and conserve stamina would have an important edge.

Hehe, I recall saying that the no-jump-and-shoot whould impact more than just bunnyhoppers and being dogpiled on for "talking spit about stuff I don't know".

Well, chalk up a victory for intuitive application of logic.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled that they seem to have taken shortcuts here to address legit problems, but have impacted legit players more than the behaviours they were attempting to curb.

Some more rational fixes could have been implemented... but that would have taken more work.

Example: I like lobbing C4. I don't think there's a problem with it. (don't argue realism, you CAN throw C4 just fine. You CAN even make it stick since it's sticky. I was talking to an infantry man with his Demo-cirt on the matter).
The true problem is that it can be tossed and airbursted, making it overly effective as an anti-infantry weapon.
A proper solution would have been to put a delay on drawing the detonator. This would fix both the issue with airbursting AND would address the problem where accedently clicking more than once while placing your last C4 blows you up.

they shuold leave it as it is. The only thing I can say is just make it so you cant jump if your stamina is gone. It should have been like this in the first place, and we wouldn't have this problem...but no, lets just do something drastic and not only get rid of the jumping ten times in a row, but also shooting while jumping....where they get their ideas for the patches I don't know...a lot of the time the fixes are just like...what??...why????? All I can say is, just make the AA work a bit better, and fix it so you cant jump without stamina. Leave the rest alone.

Well bunny hopping is fun, not only that its, easy to kill a bunny hopper if you know how, taking away shooting while jumping is just dumbing down the game to extreme, learn how to kill them, players that dont know how jump and shoot or kill them havent got any coordination, sometimes you need to jump and shoot.

They should focus there stuff on the attack helos way over powered for some maps and the c4 anything more just wants to give up playing this game and return to bfv cuz that was fun, i dont want to play some clone of cs.

The whole idea of a game is to have a learning curve, its like t1 and t2 people learnt to become good over time, next thing they ll bring out is once you die you have to wait till the map starts again.

IRL you can throw a grenade a LOT further than you can in BF2 standing still, I know this because I have thrown many,

So you agree the answer is not to allow people to jump and throw becuase you mention Realism and state that jumping and throwing are not real.

Youu could indeed pitch C4 as it is in the game, and I have seen a similar instance of it's use IRL (busting a bunker in Fallujah).

Pitch into a bunker/placed against a door for a breach is much different than the running throwing and sticking to the side of a vehicle or killing troops. And I have also used C4 in Fallujah as well as Hit, Haditha and Ar Ramadi. Not once was it tossed onto a vehicle at a checkpoint then detonated from miles away. I only menmtion this because again... you mention realism in the 1st quote.

I have seen soldiers advancing a posistion IRL jumping over small objects and firing supression rounds.

And rarely seen a single round hit it's target, would be my guess

If an AT is in the street behind a barricade fighting a tank and an APC, but just out of reach of the medics bag, it would suck to have the choice be let him die and teh tankl move on killing more of your team, or dying yourself trying to heal/revive him.

Oh yeah... the realism there.... I bet many a soldier would like the ability for the troop medic to simply toss an aid bag to be better.

Patch isnt even out yet. Wait for it to come to see if EA even manages to meet the statements that are being set. My bet is they screw it up more than fix anything...

-do u think its realistic to shoot someone in the leg and in the head with a shotgun without blowing it up?
-do u think its realistic that the vehicles allways leave the same kind of wreck when they get killed?
do u see real life hummers jumping off huge walls and keep going full speed when they land?
-do u see in real life planes needing only a few meters of terrain to take off?
-do you see in the real life every army engineer, anti tank, infantery, etc looking exactly the same???? are there clones in the army now?
-do u see medics in the middle of battle shooting ppl around then they see a friendly injured soldier and suddenly they throw a little pack with a red cross wich is absorbed by the soldier and heals him instantaniously?
-do u see in real life a soldier being hit 5 times and still run like an olympic champion? what does he say "i'm phisically ok after taking 5 shots but i keep imagining a little bar, and if i imagine the bar empty i will die... ", is that it?

NO more jump with the grappling hook to get to those extra high buildings.
No more toss a mine on a tank and sit back and enjoy.
No more tossing C4 onto APCs from roofs (unless they are parked up again the bloody wall!!)
No more toss a health pack on a roof, saving you the ladder of death effort.

This is BS. Bunny hopping and jumping while shooting is what made bf2. If u wanna talk about realism, go play another game. The way helicopters fly in this game and ten shots to the head doesnt kill anyone isnt exackly realism. People at EA are retarded. They should have thought of a better solution. The thing with the bunny hopping is that some people have become accustomed to doing it. Like a natural reflex or their friggin 2 fingers are fused together & can't work independantly. All the FPS games that are out are loaded with people like this.

As for the C4 I think thats the most stupid crap I have seen yet. Throw a C4 pack & it sticks to anything? Bahahhahaaha Somebody said in a previous post that it has sticky all over it, so that would make it stick to anything when its thrown. If it does indeed have sticky stuff all over it then let me ask you this. "HOW the hell could you even get the C4 out of your backpack? Let alone get 5 out & throw them." Paleeeeeese
