...where would you want to fight. Let's say it had 7 or 8 maps. What would you want those maps to be like?

I know this has been discussed before (kind of), but still. And please, plausible suggestions, nothing which would require DICE to rewrite the game engine or something.

For example:

-A snowy, icy area in Alaska used for oil drilling (since DICE loves putting oil pipelines in every map).
-An American suburbish area complete with a strip mall, Subway, and plenty of houses.
-A secret American military base in the middle of the desert (not the kind you eat if I spelled that wrong).

I think the most likely way to get bf2 onto US soil would be by a chinese invasion, maybe an x-pack that concentrates on us and chinese forces, and specifically on vehicles (maybe even naval combat--I can hope, can't i?)

so in that vein, i'd say a good mapset would be:

-hawaii- open water for naval stuff, tropical setting, a lot like wake island but geared specifically for naval and air conflict. there could potentially be several maps set in hawaii/other US pacific islands
-alaska- fijords, forests, maybe some snow, and naval conflict among the convoluted shorelines. this could even be "aleutians" with CP's being on islands in a long chain, one CP per island.
-los angeles: maybe a port map, with still some sea area for naval combat, lots of warehouses and alleyways, which would make for an interesting combination.
-sierra nevada- continuing with the idea of a chinese advance, this map would be a snowy mountain pass, much like the chinese mountain levels, with lots of choke points and high cliffs.
-california desert: a map in the barren terrain northeast of california. i really like your idea of a secret desert us military base, puglous, so why not? I'm thinking this map would have lots of open ground for tank battles, with limited cover provided by the military complex.
-las vegas: it might be fun to recreate the strip, but one could just as easily make this map a more suburban one. at any rate, this would be an urban map, perhaps the only real nod to infantry fighting in the expansion. lots of narrow places, roads, buildings, etc.
-hoover dam: in the spirit of kubra dam, but this one is finished. im not sure how possible this one is (multiple water levels) because im not a mapper, but i imagine each side starting out on one side of the canyon, with a major chokepoint formed by the road along the top of the dam.
-river crossing- this one could be really cool, set in the midwest. overgrown banks, wide, muddy river, and dinghys and apc's to cross it with. plenty of good, covered defensive positions on both sides almost a jungle feel.

And thats my idea. this would be a good xpansion to add the US army instead of the marines for the inland missions, allowing things like the apache helicopter, m-8's and other army related weaponry. And this expansion would be all about the vehicles, more tanks, more apc's, more aircraft, helos, and of course, naval stuff.

Los Angeles - A huge burned out city with sky scrapers cut in 2, You could fight in Downtown L.A. in all the big office buildings,courthouses and prisions and the wide streets.

New York - A harbor where chinise forces have to come in on boats from the carrier and try to take it well USMC defends, you could fight on the harbor and inside a big tanker docked there.

Alaska - Fight in a blizzard, protect oil pipelines,under ground tunnels made in the snow, trenches.

U.S. Airfoce Base - Defend A U.S. Airforce Base thats being attacked by the chinise forces would sorta be like the map from BFV. A good Air Combat map for all the pilots.

Florida - Fight in swamps, forest type enviorment, lots of trees and hard to see the enemy.

Hong Kong - Defend Hong Kong from the chinise,could be a night map with all the bright lights of the city and stuff.

San Fransico - A fight to take the golden gate bridge, the bridge would be long and huge with something like 6 flag points on it to capture.

N.O.R.A.D - Enemy Forces try to take over our key millitary installation deep within the mountains and you have to go in as the Seals or DF to take em out, would be a pure infantry combat map.

Washington D.C. - The White House is being attacked, and you have to protect the presidents room from being capped, until a chopper comes down and can take the president to safety would sorta be like a VIP map.

Rocky Mountains - Rough Terrain, cliffs, peaks, hills , could fall to your death, caves to take cover from heli's and arty.

Pacific Ocean - A huge naval battle with carries and destroyers, bombers and planes.

I still would love to fight in some suburban areas (urban might be too laggy with skyscrapers). But, if they were to do urban areas a fight under the golden gate bridge would be awesome (naval battle).

Liberty island would be cool but would be a rip-off of Deus Ex. Some LA or NYC slums would kick ***!

EDIT: Another question would be what would the loading music for American maps be like? Jazz is the only music that I'm positive was invented in America. (I'm pretty sure rap is, and MAYBE rock) However, that would probably suck for loading music, so perhaps Schultz's "BF1942 theme on the elictric guitar" solo would work perfectly. I don't want EA to do that cheap thing they did with the Russian maps in SF by just giving them Middle Eastern loading music.

Hm...I would like to see tanks vs. tanks battle like the war II between German and Russian. Does anyone remember the name of the battle? Say map of 64 that has flat desert area with mountains on both side dominate by all kinds of vehicle: MBT, APC, anti-aircraft vehicle, Air support (A-10 and the other side would be SU-24 or 25). 32 players eachside. Darn, it would be lovely scenerio.

I would wish that they would recreate an entire city. I mean Every single house, street, bridge, any type of building. You would also be able to go into buildings, all of them. This would make the maps mind bogling(sp?) and fun. Google Earth would help the mapping. Oh yeah, put in some workable tvs and some radios so you can hear news(CSS easter egg). On the tvs you could change to a football game. Totally for infrantry. The cities that would be recreated would be the above stated. Fun to find your house and go into it if you have one in the major cities lol. It will take alot of power and time to create it.

A LOT!? That's a huge understatement. And just imagine the lag...they'd need to think of a new term for lag like that (interactive competitive slide show gaming?). Not to mention it would probably take up several like 100,000,000 megabytes of data.

Well, atleast the computer programmers makers now have a goal for the next 50 years.
