Wrong...the key to war is always and always has been....KILL MORE OF THEM....... everything else is secondary(including staying alive). Plus when i am in a tank i average about 15 kills for my one death and any average tanker will get around that so being able to take out a tank with a mere jeep....which can be killed by one shot...is a valuable tool in the arsonal ////////and let me add this ad-libbed qoute
The history of /"WAR", like those done by "Armies/Nations etc...", involves the /"Politicians" of the plan, and then some dumbass kid/"Soldiers" whom the /"Politicians/President/Dictator" talks into /"Die for his cause/Country" with a /"Gun/Tank/Plane...Etc..etc. As the /"Politicians/President/Dictator" is too smart to /"fight/die" himself for his own cause... Anyone can /"shoot a gun/fire a torpedoeo/push the red nuclear missle fire button" and get a kill. The key to war is staying alive..

If you don't stay alive, you don't win.. Thing is, "killing more of them" involves staying alive youself...
So, are the pro-jihad jeep people saying that IF BF2 was a game where if you died, you had to wait till the next game to respawn, "play again", you would still jihad jeep for the better of the team?
I always wondered what those guys are doing when I see them driving their jeep straight towards me in my tank, but I always thought they were just stupid and I'd blast them to high heaven. It never dawned on me that they might have C4 in their jeep and they were trying to kill me. LOL! I always thought, god what an easy target just before I blew them to smithereens. If you can't kill a jeep with a tank, you deserve to die.
1) People are whingeing about the 'reality of a game' - fine, whatever does it for you.
2) These same people are whingeing about using explosive-packed vehicles as a weapon in a modern warfare simulator, and using explosive traps to destroy tanks.
Im sure I am not alone in detectinga teeny bit of hypocrisy in this argument... do you ever read the news? wonder why the Yank grunts are so trigger happy on the road to the airport in Baghdad?
Suicide carbombings are one of the most realistic aspects of your cherished "modern warfare simulator", so it really needs to stay in IMO.

...anyway. If BF2 were a game where there was no respawn between rounds it would have failed before it got through in house testing. RvS is a game where the maps are compact enough and the realism level is high enough to do that. BF2 is a run and gun shooter, not going for realism.

Have a problem? Is there some requirement in the area of stats before i can have a comment here? IS it required that i play on ranked servers for your stat viewing pleasure? I thought not...
Nope, His holier then thou bullsh!t attitude is the reason hes getting flamed in this thread. He deserves it. And im in the "Car bombs are fine" group.

I got an idea, how about you learn how to understand what you are reading. As, your reply to me, in regards to your opinion as to why BF2 doesn't have a death system like CS:source, was not my point...
My point was that if the game was run as a 1 death game, you wouldn't have people jihad jeeping...
I am not saying the game of BF2 should be like CS:source.. But what happened was, people are mixing in real war tactics with game tactics.. As, the person i was replying to said that war was about killing more people, and single person deaths don't matter.
Thing is, in America, we don't strap bombs to our ass and blow ourtselves up in war. Our military is about bringing men and women back, not jihading.. That is left up to the weak cowards..
So, Keeping yourself alive is very much a part of our military strategy..
As for my holier than thou attitude, please explain, and we'll see if i can't correct the issue.
Seems like the point of this topic was lost early on...
I don't think anyone is saying that the Jihad Jeep isn't a valid tactic or, heck, that "Bunnies" and "Dolphins" running around is unacceptable to everyone. It's just unacceptable to the people who made the server.
Just as I Ban all "Dolphins" and "Bunnies" the second I see them, without warning, without remorse. Some people feel the same way about the Jihand Jeep. I feel that "Hoppers" and "Air-Floppers" ruin the gameplay experience. So, I remove them. Admins on other servers feel as if the suicide bombing Jeeps ruin their good times, so, they remove them. Etc. Etc.
You people act as if they DIDN'T pay for the servers, and as if you have a say in their ruleset. Heck, come to think of it, you do have a voice in the form of your choice to play there or not. If ya' don't like the server rules, leave. There are so few servers than Ban suicide bombers that I doubt you will have a hard time finding another place to play.
Furthermore. If ya' keep running into the same problem, you're always more than welcomed to shell out the cash for your own ranked server. Until you decide to take that route, you have NO SAY in what someone else does with their server (As long as it doesn't Involve cheating or some sort, or extreme stat padding of some sort).
...give it a rest people. This argument had no merit from the get go. Yes Jihad Jeeps get banned on some servers because "YES" some servers don't like them! It's as simple as that.

Everyone agreed early on that servers can do damn well as they please so this part of the discussion is closed. What I and a few other people were arguing were the validity of carbombing in general, regardless of server rules.
In my opinion, this is all a matter of taste. In regards to this issue, there isn't any objective ethical norm that we should adopt. We are discussing the rules of a game. Rules of a game are conventional. If anyone feels strongly about it one way or another, then they should simply avoid playing with those that feel differently. Getting angry that the other party does not want to play the same way you do is futile. It's not like anyone can be "wrong" when it comes to matters of taste.
Personally, I come from a Ghost Recon background, and my group historically has preferred simulation-type games over quake-types. I and those in my group tend to dislike car bombing tactics. I understand that from a utilitarian analysis they make sense at times, but the fact is that utilitarian analysis isn't all that matters. This isn't to say that my taste on the matter is the correct one, however (there is no correct taste). This is just to shed some light on the p.o.v. that people like myself take. Live and let live. There are plenty of servers to go around.
