I have had 2 gigs since day one of having BF:2

Not sure what I would do without it. I am the 1st to 2nd in the server after load up. I start capping flags before others even enter the server.

Something else that really sped up my load times (like night and day) was when I switched over from IDE to an SATA hard disk. Especially the verifying client time.

Depends on the quality you could be talking €80 and up, though make sure what you get matches what u have. spec wise.

I only got 1GB but I got X2 6800GT in sli and an X2 3800 @2.5Ghz(from 2Ghz) and I am usually in the top 3. I think the 10K raptors really help load times as well.

So I finally forked over some cash towards purchasing a second set of DDR400 running in dual-channel....Oh my God, the difference it has made.

I get little lag spikes, but I've been able to slowly increment my graphic settings to everything but the dynamic stuff on HIGH @ 1024x768, and I'm very impressed.

Just thought I'd share. This seems to be the easiest and cheapest upgrade for garanteed results.

i got 512mb ram but i think my processor is good its a intel pentium 4CPU 3.20GHz(2CPUs) and my video card is ok not great its a RADEON X300SE

Everything is good but you need 2gig of ram to play bf2 comfortably, i had 1 gig and it lagged so got another gig stick and it plays excellent, + i would invest in another graphics card, an nvidia 6600 256mb

I wish 1gb stick of ram was as cheep as 2x 512's

i haf bougt 2 gig a couple weeks ago loading times is fast but my fps stil hang on 20-40 and it doesnt matter if im on low settings and high settings
but it plays smooht

i have noticed that by enabling AA by 2x that the frame rate goes up, also texture filtering means is enhances the overall of the textures in the game slightly.

Does anyone know if ram will help with gettting dropped from server for "a connection problem". I play over a wireless and get booted off enough to be very anoyed about it.

dont play over wireless there is no point it will just lag an drop you all the time, try a wired connection if you can.
